Duke Nukem Forever PC Download Activates on Steam $10 @ Impulse

I bit on it.. Have been wanting to play it but from the reviews, didnt seem worth the price. For 10 bucks cant pass it up.

Anyone know if the MP is alive?

Wait for it to hit $4.99. You are still getting ripped off.

Come on, it's gotta be worth $10 right? That's the price of lunch.

I felt ripped off when i rented this off of redbox for $2.00. I didn't play for more than 30min.

Kyle you play it since the last major patch where the updated the textures and a bunch of other stuff?

If a game that takes ten hours of you life isn't worth $10, it isn't worth $1.

But, I have the feeling (not having played it) that DNF isn't as bad as some reviewers claim it is.

I dont know what everyones complaint about DNF is.. Regardless of it not living up to the hype of 14 years of production, it was still fun.. Lots of boobies, funny 1 liners, and while it being liner kinda sucked, it was still really fun to play..

After I beat it I gave it to my boss to play thru, just got it back so now I can finally try MP

hmm sounds like ill hold off till its $5 or less. Every seems to agree its trash.

I played this game to see how much of a train wreck it was. Oddly enough there was a point that I actually started having fun.

Don't get me wrong the game is absolute crap, yet I found it inadvertently hilarious. It's not that the jokes were funny, but you can tell which games came out when they developed certain sections. I mean hell, for the outdoor monster truck section they straight ripped the HL:EP2 skybox as you drive toward the huge column of energy and giant vortex.

Still, there was some fun gunplay hours into the game, and if you want to go back and see bits of the good games from the last decade, it's a lot shorter than playing them each individually. But yeah, unless you like watching Nascar for the crashes and are amused by fail videos. (Isn't that what Youtube is for, to watch skaters eat shit?) save your time.

Duke Nukem Forever seems like a great game but missed its release date by 5 years.

By than duke nukem forever became nothing special.

I think I'll give it a shot, hard to complain for 10 bucks.

I picked up Alien vs Predator for $10 during a Steam sale thinking the same thing. But no, there's still plenty to complain about that game even at that price point.

AVP was worth $10 though IMO

I had my Amazon pre-order in for the Balls of Steel edition of this game for $90 a tad over 3 month ago. Lucky for me the demo saved me from wasting $90. Now it's $10? I'll wait for the $5 deal next month.

For myself, I have to disagree that it isn't worth it. This gets me in on the cool crowd who say it sucks :). I mean, come on, 10$, that is dirt cheap.

Sure, if your in need of a game to play and especially for a game that just came out, but not cheap enough to just stuff it in the backlog.

I've had this game code since it came for free with 3DVision glasses. Tried selling it a couple weeks after the game came out, zero interest. Wasn't worth my time to try to sell it for $20 or less. But the thing reviewed so terribly that it wasn't worth playing myself, either. By all accounts it's a shitty game in every possible respect - my time is valuable to me, time is money, and so why waste it on this?

I paid something like $2 for Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 and played it for like five minutes, and that game reviewed well. To me, it doesn't matter how inexpensive a game is if it won't get played.

I don't understand the hating on this game... great level design, production values and a lot of fun. Easily worth $10 even if not the Second Coming it was hyped up to be.

i cranked the difficulty and im replaying it now that i unlocked a harder mode. WAT [H], WAT

its worth $10. animations suck, game is still fun.

The game is much better than other $10 games you guys have bought.

Both the multi-player and single-player were fun and there was nothing especially annoying about the game.

The graphics and movement and interface aren't up to snuff but that's not really what makes most games fun. This game does some things right in the fun department.

People that think FarCry2 is not completely shit won't understand why this game has some fun in it.

I bought it for $10 and started playing it last night.

I think this game suffers from unrealistic expectations. After 12 years of hype we expected it to have the world's greatest graphics, gameplay, and storyline. The problem is, it's Duke Nukem.

Going into it, I expected a low-class, immature, mindless shooter. So far, it's satisfying my expectations, heh.

Really? I got Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition for $10, and I just don't think this crappy game can compete.
