My entire music library is in lossless flac format. Is this compatible with Google Music? Hows the quality while streaming?

Hey I was wondering how you achieved this? I have been mildly trying for years to do this. I dont know where to get the music.

A large part of my music is in FLAC. It converted fine. The streaming quality is really great. I have a Zero DAC/Amp and Denon D2000's, and no complains about how google music sounds with them. It's indistinguishable for a 320kbps MP3 played locally through winamp. I don't use local media players at all anymore... my music still exists on my computer purely for archival purposes. I use google music for everything.

Anyone have an invite left? This looks great.

Thx!

Slowly over the years. Some are from vinyl which I personaly love the sound of. Used to be a great store down the street from me that had a great vinyl selection, but sadly they went out of business a few years ago. Can still find gems in estate sales, craigs list, ebay, etc... Otherwise is just a matter of finding good souce material on whatever medium you can and then ripping it is lossless format. Half the fun is the hunt :)

I don't know how I haven't heard about this til now!!
Does anyone have an extra invite?

Got invite thx! Now I need to clean up my collection and add tags... eek

Tagging is the one thing that gave me trouble with google music. It's a bit picky. For example, say you've got two Metallica albums... and one is only tagged with Metallica as the album artist, and the other is tagged with Metallica in both the album artists and contributing artist... they will show up as different bands in google. Likewise, if something is tagged wrong when it uploads, you have to either retag it with google, or else fix them locally, then delete the files from your google account and reupload.

I used music brainz picard to go through my unorganized collection of mp3s and sort and retag them automatically.

If there are any invites left ... please shoot me 1 ... will be nice to try out.

Thanks
