Are there any external closure for internal video cards for laptops?

Just experimenting and wondering...

I have some spare video cards such as GTX 460 and stuff

I have a sandy bridge i3 laptop with HD 3000 integrated graphics. Usually I bring it to school and play some games during break.

I was wondering if there are anything like external closures that you insert the graphic card and run THAT graphic card to the laptop from the VGA plug or something?

And if there is one, how would it get its juice?

can't believe it..
I remember replying to someone's thread about it; I found it! It's a ViDock

Well not really. A vidock requires an external monitor. As far as I know there is no solution that works with the laptop's screen.

Depends on if you already have a PSU and graphics card laying around. Also depends if your laptop had and express card or open mini PCIe slot. Somewhere in this forum is a guy that attached an HD 5850 to his laptop for much cheaper than a ViDock

It's a toss up. The do it yourself route takes a lot of work and know how. You also have to Jerry rig a power supply to make it work. A vidock is an all in one package. It comes with a power brick and it's own enclosure for the card. It's a lot more viable for people who travel because your hardware is at least safe. The downside is it's really expensive.
