Sound Blaster with quad core audio processor? Press release is here. Will be interesting to see how it compares in practice to existing X-Fi models and Xonar Essence cards.

To me it sounds like Creative is really going out of their way to swap existing "V6" engine for "V12" ... on a golf cart .... yes it's cooler, but wth anyone would ever need it on a sound card???

I read that and i have no idea what they're trying to achieve other than to get people attention by acquiring a license to use THX against random made up technologies they've created. The use of 'Core' and '3D' is clever also..

Not interested.

you can view the cards here

not many components on the board, and look at those capacitors

Looks pretty meh. Gee whiz features, mediocre components is what it looks like.

People will buy it. Not me, but other people. That is what is important. Especially if they make it the most expensive sound card available. And wow does that look like a cheap sound card.

+1 it doesn't look nearly as beefy as the X-Fi HD. But at least they are staying in the game and not dropping out. It seems Asus and Creative are going to the the Ford and GM of the sound card world for a while.

I suppose if it does an awesome job cancelling noise and letting you use a mic with speakers then it'll be good for something.

I think it seems kinda redundant to connect it to a game console for positional audio.
