I used the "rogue" link to order mine. I received an order cancellation , then I received an order confirmation a few days later. It said the item would ship in the 28th. I just got off the phone with a csr & he told me I would NOT be getting a touchpad. It was a system error. My order was never on back-order either. He said any order placed after 4am cst on the 23rd would in fact NOT be shipped(I placed mine at 4:15am cst on the 23rd. & all the random order confirmations were in fact system errors. I just received another order cancellation. & the hold & charge has been removed from my cc. Oh, well.

How do you know she responded to him directly? I don't follow twitter at all really especially not at work.
 
I just talked to HP Rep, he confirmed mine order is backorder and won't be available until couple weeks ( i doubt it'll ever ship). Funny i placed the order on the 20th when they have a price glitch at the original price. I guess i'll just wait it out

If that is how she is fine, but I'd think working for HP customer relations would require a little more professionalism. I should just unsubscribe from the phone alert that might help. Getting texts at 1am saying she is REALLY going to bed now were waking me up.

We were supposed to have news of stock early last week... So it's been a week of updates that don't help people get touchpads.

/shrug I'm just pissed off at the whole situation and how HP handled this. Get one or not, it wasted over a weeks worth of time for so many companies and individuals. I bet less work got done this week than any other week this year costing our economy...

i just hate how shes posted a thousand tweets to a million people, and hasnt given any useful information. at least that was the situation last time i checked it like 3 days ago. shed just tweet "big news later today" and then the news would be "theres nothing to report." such a waste of everyones time. shes just enjoying her newfound fame. also the tags are really obnoxious.
 
Does anyone know what the little "Clicky" thing is used for on the side. About the same size as a SD card. Mine slides out and has the MAC info for the wireless if i'm remembering right. I was HOPING that was a SD card slot, but that does not appear to be true as i cannot get part that is in out.

It's just the serial and info tag found on a lot of HP products these days. Nothing more.
 
I see that HP finally took the 16gb off their site. The 32gb still up tho. i wonder if they plan on getting a few more in? Will need to keep an eye on that. Dont need one but I know a deal when i see one.
 
So I just off a chat with a CSR for HP SMB. This is what transpired out of it. Still don't know if they will actually go through with it.

HP issued another 6-pack of apps. Two are from the last pack, but there are four new ones. Sadly, Quell and AB Rio are both used up (not sure about the Camera or Big Boss apps since I got those last time).

Hmmm - error now on HP SBE order status site.

Order number is not found in the Vista. Please contact an Account Rep or Manager for more information

and - No orders found on the other link....

Bummer.
 
Ordered mine on the 21rst, and have gotten order confirmation for both, so all good hopefully.
Did get off the phone with the HP reps, and was told i would be getting them, but would be like 6-7 weeks from the order date till it gets to me but really hope it's sooner...lol
As for the bank hold going away, i was told that they can only authorize it for 7 days, so it dissapears after that till they can redo it again. So hopefully that clears up that mystery.

I was VERY surprised to find a box from ecost on my door this evening!

Didn't get an email or anything, last time I checked my order status showed "discontinued"
 
Mine arrived today. Luckily i was able to get the touchstone dock from Craigslist this weekend. Now i just need to find that damn HP folio case!
 
So do you guys think HP is going to get more to sell to new customers? Or any retail outlet for that matter? I really want one of these. :(
 
I'm shocked at how badly HP dropped the ball on this. Not because of the firesale mad dash, but because there are lots of you posting that you ordered AFTER they were sold out with apparent ship dates and such. I ordered mine on 8/20 at 2:00 MST. I have confirmed with HP that I will be receiving one but the best answer I get from them regarding my shipping is "it will ship in the next one to two weeks". Either some of you are full of BS or HP screwed the pooch horribly. :confused: My order status still shows shipping date of 8/22. It has not shipped. Last update on my order was 8/23. I have a requested date (whatever the fuck that is) of 9/1. At least I'm confirmed to get one. Better than a kick in the head or a cancellation email.
 
Just received mine from eCost. Never got a shipping confirmation so I was surprised when it got here.
 
My delivery date at HP SMB OSS Order Status tool just changed. It now reads "Date will follow" instead of 8/29. I'm still in Admin status so I'm still hopeful that I'll eventually get one.

My order never updated either other than showing discontinued and it still hadn't shown up on my card but after seeing this post I went and checked my order again. To my surprise they shipped one to me on Friday and I'll have it tomorrow. My mom should be quite happy with this.

My dumbass signed up for the price drop notification. Oops. Oh well, my $200 eBay'ed TP shipped today, after a bit of eBay-caused drama.
 
Well, delivery date from HP got changed again, this time to Sept 7th. But at least they adjusted the price to free shipping though.
