I enjoyed Dragon Age Origins and The Witcher, but I don't know which sequel to get first.

As someone who loved DA:O, the Witcher 2 is a FAAAAAAAAR better sequel. IT takes what made the Witcher I fun, amps them up, throws in a much better/varied combat system, more choices, graphics engine that will push your pc to it's limits, great character/voicework, etc.

DAII isn't even what I'd call a sequel. It takes away what made DA:O fun, the "epicness" of it's story and world are both missing in DAII and you're stuck playing through it mostly in one single city the entire game which isn't even that well designed and re-uses area's over and over and over.

I just hope DAIII is more like Origins, and a lot less like DAII.

Too bad The Witcher 2 isn't a Steamworks game :(

But you get to play it now for $25 instead of xmas (i don't mind waiting).

Is this the cheapest we've seen DA2 by far? Or has it been $12 on D2D for a while now?

It has been $12 before, it is also $12 at Amazon at the moment. With the coupon though it is the cheapest I can recall. Maybe EA Origin had a 2-3 hour insider deal for cheaper, trying searching if it has been posted in hot deals before.

They did, but that was when it was $12. This is definitely the cheapest I've seen it and I doubt we'll see it go below $10 for a looooong time.

D2D charges tax and Amazon does not.

They're less than $1 apart after that for me. I'd still get D2D since I have more there. Amazon seems to change its digital storefronts every 6 months. So its a bit of pain to negotiate unless you're going there regularly.

godamn it, i enjoyed having money in my account.

don't need DoW...In for all the others.....

at least dragon effect 2 is finally down low enough for me to grab it simply to see the story and it's tie ins to the original.

actually really excited about the rest, witcher is amazing, two worlds seems to have a good coop element, same with fable 3...and yeah its fable...but still i'll buy this shit on the pc if for nothing else than to show people want it on pc.

Isn't that based on what state you're in? I do get taxed for D2D, but everyone?

Yeah, that's why I said for me. Its based on your state sales tax. I'm really not sure why D2D wussies out on this vs. other online merchants. Maybe they or their parent company is based in my State and I don't know it.

It isn't because of being "wussies" but it is dependent on where the distributor has physical offices I believe.

For instance Steam and Amazon will charge tax if you are in Washington State. EA Origin will charge tax in a ton of places, including all of Canada. Foreign based DDs, like GMG, will not charge tax to anywhere in NA. I think D2D might have to charge tax in more states now possibly due to the change to Gamefly ownership, but I know they do not tax to Canada still.

It is a bit like buying hardware. If you are in California for instance you tend not to buy from Newegg due to tax, and if you are in Washington you tend to not buy from Amazon due to tax.

Bit on DA2. For $10, I can forgive its inferiority to the original.

First time downloading on D2D for me. Download speed is oscillating between 1.4MB and 2.3 MB/s in the first two minutes. Slower than the 3.1 MB/s I get from Steam, but maybe D2D is being pegged this weekend with this sale. Time left is about an hour, so I'm not complaining.

Thanks OP.
