Deus Ex: Human Revolution - PC features/improvements

Omfg "Eyefinity support" YES !!! I pre-ordered hoping this. Hell ya I'm so happy to read this.

Something is not right there.

So far it seems this only concerns boxed copies, however in Europe in which Square Enix have defined three zones for the game -- United Kingdom (not including Ireland), mainland Europe and eastern Europe as I understand-- I'm pretty much sure the region locking is borderline illegal; if I recall correctly it is forbidden to create artificial trade barriers between different European states.

No digital preorders have any bonuses except the Augmented Edition. All augmented edition preorders get DX GOTY as a bonus.

This is also likely why retail is region locked and digital isn't. Since retail have all sorts of different preorder bonus contracts, while digital is uniform.

Man I hate this incentive BS used to sell shit. It just means everyone else gets a lesser version of the game :(

If the thing would just launch already, I could spend less time thinking about what I won't get in my Human Revolution and more time being Adam Jensen.

The only preorder bonus I think worth really getting worked up about is the extra mission in the "explosive pack" but that may change depending on the actual quality of it once we find out.

The rest, speaking from a bit of experience, would actually detract from the game experience in my opinion. They either don't really fit that well and/or just make the game way to easy early on, worsening the experience.

Cool! I like my games hard. Do you have any experience with the difficulty options? What's the hardest mode?

I pre-ordered after reading the PC Gamer review (94, Editor's Choice). To quote Tom Francis, "Deus Ex: Human Revolution is the best game I've played in four years."

In this case that review might actually have something going for it based on all the beta feedback that's been out there that we've seen here and abroad for weeks.

I have no idea yet if I'm going to think the game is that good but I'm definitely expecting to play probably the best game I've played this year thus far for sure.

I wouldn't base anyting on a PC Gamer review, no matter what branch. Trust the people who played the leaked beta. They tend to heap praise on it.

I am curious to see what the PC Gamer review says, but i can't seem to find it online... is it only in the magazine?

Damnit, I preordered with Gamestop's Impulse. WHERE IS MY SERIAL SO I CAN PRE DOWNLOAD THIS DAMN GAME!!!!

They removed the Region Lock from UK Box copies too. I guess its because some people imported the awesome collectors edition.

Yay, pre-loaded n' ready! I assume this means I can play at midnight on the 23rd? Does Steam release by time zone? I live on the east coast...

Steam rarely ever unlocks at midnight and no they do not release by time zone. Valve is based on Seattle so everything is done by PST (well ideally it's done according to PST, but usually it's by VST).

What was done for PC gamers?

"First off, Nixxes developed a DX11 renderer that is used on the PC, when available. We did leverage this by adding several features you will see when you have DX11 hardware on your PC: real-time tessellation, improved Screen Space Ambient Occlusion, improved blurs and depth of field," Julien Bouvrais, the Eidos-Montreal Director of Technology told Gamespy. "We also added custom support for AMD's Eyefinity (multiple monitors), and 3DHD. On another note, the user interface has been tailored for the keyboard, and mouse controls can be fully customized for your gaming habits."

Just got my activation code from Green Gaming Man. Downloading the game now. :)

I am going to spend my weekend in a drunken stupor just to make time go faster. LOL.

I'm shit surprised Green Man Gaming was able to get preload up and running before Gamestop. Piece of shit :/

It's called GameSTOP. one of these days they're going to put an end to gaming.

Doing my DX1 playthrough (no idea how many times now). DXHR does reference elements of DX1 quite a bit actually if early indications are anything.
