I'm about to purchase this monitor from a local guy.. Selling for $300 cash without warranty. I need your opinions please..

Should I go for it or too old and too expensive..

Thanks.

I did... His reply was "I can only do $240 cash".. Even this I can't make up my mind...

Pro's:
27"
IPS or PVA.
PiP (not that will ever going to use it)

Con's:
Might blow after taking it home.
1920x1200
And again no warranty.

Anyone know how much is this monitor selling in Ebay.. I'm at work and no access to ebay

Thanks.

Isn't it 5+ years old? Wouldn't touch it, also being an older VA panel will likely have major input lag and ghosting.

That's what I have been thinking.... this is too old to be buying albeit $240. I'm not really concern about lag or ghosting because I have my LP3065 that I use for gaming. This is will replace my 23"ACD that I sold. So it's main purpose is just for browsing and what have you...

You think for $240 is not a good deal?

The lp3065 has low input lag and ghosting, old spvas are very slow. I would not even take it for free. Spend your 240$ on a 23" ips like the dell u2311h or dell u2311h

I have a 2707 that is now 4 years old and it hasn't aged well. Colors are shifting towards yellow, display is losing brightness uniformity, etc. I will point out that the thing had heavy use 16 hours a day all year for all 4 years though.

I would look at it and see what you think. If it looks good it sounds like a decent buy. Despite the defects mine has it still beats the shitty TNs my friends keep buying. I've never been bothered by the input lag.

Thanks for you input. And yeah I know.. I will never buy a TN panel ever again.

Dell 2707 was a rather simple but nicely finished monitor.
It was a bestbuy for those looking for a large screen with large dot pitch.
It has full resolution 1920x1200 (Full HD Plus), not castrated 1920x1080.
Unless you are a gaming maniac, you won't see any issues as far as responsiveness is concerned.
Flawless movie playback (from a PC).
Being S-PVA, it has typical PVA colorshift depending on the viewing angle.
Off-center glow is usual for LCD monitors without a special polarizer.
Major con is wide color gamut (oversaturated colors).
Just one digital input (DVI).
Image quality is neither better nor worse than present S-PVA as S-PVA actually stagnated at the level of the Dell 2707.
$240 is OK if you like its pros and accept its cons, and the unit has no technical defects.
