Dota 2 Trailer!!!!

I got into HoN since they recently went F2P. But Valve is making DoTA 2 so no doubt I'll move over :D

They should really just go ahead and make a full motion picture already. It seems like a lot of stuff they put out is leading up to that.

I hate to be the naysayer here and note that this doesn't seem like Valves area of expertize. You know aside from their Modus operandi in which they buy a mod and mod team. Clean up mod and call it a game. I say this being a Valve fan.

I get that they like buying popular free titles and making a buck, but I wish they'd just work on the shit they haven't finished.

Let's be honest

Counter-strike source while updated sucks compared to the original not even mentioning the netcode. Team Fortress 2 was pretty ok but just went down the pooper and never had quite the heart of the original. L4D was never that great of a game nor was it's sequel. There's zombie mods I still prefer to it.

Valve I love ya but finish fucking HL. You were good at that.

I really enjoyed the CG, but that doesn't say anything about a game, does it?

I haven't been so impressed with a game trailer in a very long time. I'm glad to see they're using the heroes from the original. The art direction the direction in general of that trailer was beyond fantastic. If that is any indicator of the game's quality, it will be a hit. It brought a grin to my face and a few goosebumps to my skin. Very impressed!

So many original characters from dota! Im very excited, nearly giggle to myself they opened it with drow

You know I thought that was the assassin, I was sort of hoping they would bring back the originals. Hell even the fact tauren and sand king are coming back makes me happy!

Didn't see skeleton king though...

I love the Skeleton King, they better bring him back.

Until you start playing and it looks exactly like HoN and LoL.

Nobody who's actually interested in this game is going to give a shit about that, because that's exactly what they want, in fact, that's what I want.

But you can fuck off with the graphics already, it's been brought up in the other thread as well.

Blizzard called, they want their Warcraft 3 units back.

No, seriously.

There's Grom, The Captain, Illidan, and several other heroes in DotA 2 who are blatant copies of units in Warcraft 3.

I understand that players are accustomed to the models used in the original DotA mod, and that changing their look would upset a large portion of the population. But seriously, they didn't need to outright copy their appearance. I mean, there's absolutely no hiding it.

Who cares, I just want to play the game, which will be good.

The mod used these characters, if someone is making a remake I say who gives a crap. Unless blizzard says these character models are too similar then bring on the copies! Also they better have a lot of the same moves... damnit!

I absolutely welcome this as Blizzard has great art styling and Valve is taking it and putting their own spin on it. To me it looks great.

I can assure you that I much prefer it over the League of Legends "sex sells" remakes, which generally means turning a character into a scantily clad model with 48V jugs swaying around to make the virgins happy. Seriously, it's half the game.

And you were expecting what exactly when they announced DotA 2? HL and CS heroes?

And bringing up objections over the visual prowess of this game is a legitimate topic. Like it or hate it, you can always just simply ignore the objections but telling people to go "fuck off" because you dont like it, is hardly a winning response.

There already was a six page pissing match about the graphics about twenty topics back. How many do we need?

Hey now... no reason we can't have both, good art and tits... I agree LoL has a lot of sex sells, but it also has a lot of the weird and bizarre, and there usually the most fun to play... they just don't have good artists.

Ed: saw your saying blizzard has great art style... blizzard also has lots of scantily clad women in it's games.

LoL has a great business model and relaxed a few of the gameplay elements to make it more accessable.

I prefer HoN for the speed/fluidness of the game...and the setting (annoucer and such). I am more looking forward to how DotA 2 plays speed wise.

We will see tomorrow I would think.

LoL is quite fun, I play a lot of it, but Riot is not a good company.

That is all.

Oh not saying LoL isn't fun to play ... I play it daily mostly because it's fun to make people ragequit.

But the game itself is rather dull, rift is hour long matches of which carry can get the most ganks first then dominate the rest of the game cuz there equip is superior... treeline is so unbalanced it's not funny

I'll be interested to see how dominon pans out, since it looks like a lot of the recent nerfs were to stop heroes from being to unbalanced in it (range nerfs on skills, no casting via minimap, no global teleport skills).

Yeah LoL's business model promises, promises, promises, rake in the cash from the suckers believing the promises, devote time to new skin instead of promised features.

Where's replay, Where's spectator mode, Where's the revamps of half the champs they claim to be revamping, Where's the balancing for TT, Where's magma chamber ... oh that's right we got a new champ and 4 new skins, sorry didn't mean to ask. *snickers*

No offense, but... sounds like you are playing low level games or maybe just normals. Ranked games and especially higher level ranked games are a completely different story. Average game length in ranked is more like 30-35 minutes in my experience. A lot of times people in normal games or lower elo games just don't seem to understand when to push their advantage (i.e. 5v4 situations).

In ranked, you see that advantage and jump on it, either by pushing or taking map control. If you go to take map control (baron or dragon), a lot of times if the enemy team tries to stop you you can turn a small advantage into a BIG one and really determine the game.

Not trying to be rude or offensive, just sharing my opinion after working on my smurf account the past few weeks.

Acutally I do play normal yes, since in ranked you can't get a game done without someone ragequitting ... tried ranked 8 times, and in all 8 people were rude, offensive, and players did dumb shit like AFK or ragequit so i'd rather play normal where it doesn't matter what other people do.
