G.SKILL Value Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1333 C9 $34.99

Holy hell, less that 5 dollars a gig without rebates...

dang... just bought this ram for $50, its actually supposed to be here today. Maybe newegg will match the price.

edit: nevermind looks like i got the the black value series ram that is pc310666 vs the 10600

Woah. Cheapest I have seen is $29, this is close! Maybe I will go back to slower ram for double the capacity. I currently have 8gb 2133 and gather 16gb 2133 can be iffy on Sandy Bridge, yet I need more capacity...

Snagged up a couple! Thank you for the heads up!

Yeah, heck with it, I snapped up two sets... :D. EDIT: Plus, with no heatspreaders, they'll fit under basically anything if I change out my heatsink sometime... :).

I would have bought this. However, I have already purchased 16GB of DDR3 ram just last week for a machine I do not even have yet. :D

Grabbed me a set for a small cheap build I'm doing :)

$37.53 total for those in cali.

Don't forget the 1.5% fatcash back, save you a whole $0.52 per set, I snagged two sets for a new build, $1.05 back, total ended up being $68.93 ($34.47/set)

Must resist replacing 2-4 of my 4x2gb sticks to get 12 or 16gb instead of 8gb!

I am curious if memory can really get any cheaper than this though? I mean is the manufacturing/shipping cost on these $10 or something? I might just wait until the 12gb sets start hitting $40.

I forgot about that fatcash. Too late for me, oh well.

I was going to buy a 4GB (sys limit) set for my WHS v1 build but for $10 more I can get an extra 4GB stick for later use.

They can lower the price to 5$/set and still make profit. Especially now that the WTO lifted China's limitation on rare earth mineral export. Of course it wouldn't be financially smart to do so. I believe the prices we're seeing now are the cheapest DDR3 will ever be. Expect the flood gates to close once DDR4 hits mass manufacturing.

lga2011 doesnt work with these ddr3 correct?
anybody hear of when 4gb modules are coming haha

LGA2011 I thought I heard will use DDR3 1333 as stock, with up to four channels, so if that is the case then yes these would work fine with it.

According to wiki it will.

I'm currently thinking of waiting till Ivy bridge and then upgrading prob to the replacement of the sandybridge i7-2600 (or 2600k). Sandybridge for that currently uses LGA 1155 socket and supports up to dual channel DDR 1333. Looking at Nehalem for past trends, the socket/memory type supported tends to stay the same from the tick to the tock phase. Correct me if I'm wrong, it seems like getting 16gb of this now would be usable on my current cpu, but its also likely that its going to be quite good for the ivy bridge cpu, assuming the socket/memory supported stays the same? I know there is almost no info on ivy bridge so its hard to say for sure, but does that seem like a reasonable assumption?

Ivy Bridge is scheduled per all current info to use DDR3 with a quad-channel configuration, so yes, if you bought 16GB of this now (four sticks) you would be fine moving it to that setup later on with LGA 2011.

I'm in the same boat...picked up 16GB in the last month so I have no need but thought it was worth posting!

Great, now I am tempted to get this and build a second machine over the next few months. (Not really needed though.)

damn.. I built my PC last year and i spent a ton on memory.. This makes me wanna /wrist

So I've got 16 gigs in my rig........just bought the GSkill deal a few weeks ago and got 24 gigs for $134 and thought that was a damn steal, and now just bought 3 sets of these. It was really, really tempting to not jump on 5 sets.

At least I'm one step closer to having a 2-node HA/FT VMware setup.

Well, I purchased 2 kits. So now I have 32GB of DDR3 ram with no machine yet to put it in. Well, I plan on doing one upgrade in the next few months and then I will see from there.

Actually, just cancelled the order since I finally had a moment of clarity. :D I have 8GB DDR2 that I can swap with the mainboard into an HTPC build. I am considering doing that when I finally get around to purchasing a new mainboard to go with the 16GB of DDR3 ram I already have from last week.

I like the idea of having 32GB of ram but I will not be building 2 whole new machines. Therefore, for me, it would have been a waste to get this ram as well.

you know you want to ;)

Thanks OP, Ordered one. I think I'm going to setup a RAM Drive for Skyrim when it comes out. Well, as long as the install is under ~12GB ish.

Already had a set from the last time they went on sale, figured what the hell may as well make it 16gb of ram then. Thanks for the heads up. :p
