Don't know much about this game...saw some trailers and it looked cool, but got a lot of negative review. I guess I'll give it a shot for free and see if it's worth the $25. Also there's some free DLC coming out if you get the game before 8/17 I believe.

i've owned it since launch, its really not terrible, its a big like action quake or The Opera mod for HL. It does get repetitive and the weapons are kinda imba, but overall its a fair way to shoot down some time.

The campaign was pretty mindless, but fun enough to complete with friends -- once. After a free play weekend, the game is really not worth purchasing. I did, and sadly, regret it. It is no ET.

I got this game for free through work and I still think I was ripped off.

Yeah, its too bad this title wasn't everything it was supposed to be. I never spent much time with it due to performance issues when it was released and completely forgot I even had it. Guess its best to avoid hyping things for myself. Overall, it does provide a bit of fun and the art/gameplay style is definitely a change from the dozens of realistic shooters.

Oh well, free hat in TF2 I guess.

I'm playing on the free weekend and it honestly feels like I'm playing against bots online...how can I tell if i'm playing against humans

I LOVED Action Quake 2. Although probably today the gameplay would not stand up to current standards.

Wow, I was just telling my friends on Steam when they asked me if I liked it after they saw me playing. I selected public option and I can't say for sure this was even against humans. It doesn't show ping or anything...

I just played for a little bit...Kinda confused as to what to do, everything seems hectic.

And yes, it is a server option apparently to fill in with bots when there are not enough players. I was playing with a few other people and there were like 12 bots as well. I think on Campaign this is more common.

Also I had a 150 ping (which is not ridiculous) and it lagged like hell.

Think i'm going to pass and use the time to work on the backlog.

I always value the feedback from [H]ers on things like this.

Game shows ping if its a human. If its a bot, a little icon that looks sort of like a person appears next to the bot's name to the right of the scoreboard.

I tried to like this game, though I never played a shooter that put me to sleep like Brink did, it just isn't my type of game.

I found everything about the game to be clunky, it tries to be Parkourish, but the gameplay felt slow.

I also didn't know if I was playing against a bot or not, people were coming and going, but i didn't notice any difference.

My buddy got to play Rage at PAX East. He said he was impressed with it. If people are expecting something like Borderlands, they might be disappointed. There might be an open world but the levels you enter have that linear Quake like feel. Of course it was only a demo but he's going by what they were saying too.

The played Brink there too, told me it felt like trash then and didn’t see how they could improve it before release. Guess he was right.

I enjoy this game. I play it off and on. It replaced Crysis Wars as my FPS of choice since Crysis 2 mp sucks so much balls. I never really got into the modern war style shooter mp or TF2. So Brink fits in nicely. It has a few small issues, but overall a lot of fun for me.

To know if your are playing against human or bot, look at the scorecard using tab. If there is a small icon of a person silhouette to the right of the row, that is a human player. No silhouette means bot. More often then not I find myself enjoying the vs bots on hard mode more than straight 8v8. This is mainly because the pickup players I tend to get stuck with suck beyond belief and fight over command posts the whole match. At that point the domination becomes one sided. At least when playing with the bots there is a chance my team can pull off a struggling victory. I'm not the best player in the world, but I'm not terrible, so I like how it balances out.

Kinda lame I know, but unless more decent players join this is where my fun comes from. Which I don't have a problem with. Other people might have better luck with teams. Worth checking out if your not FPS picky.

I was pleasantly surprised when I finally played this. It is a pretty good game despite the terrible lag that hits from time to time and the clunky character movements. If this were under $10 I'd pick it up no hesitation, but alas that is not the case.
