Borderlands 2 - "Next fiscal year"

Definitely. Out of all the games I've played, Borderlands has the best weapons and physics of all. I sure hope Gearbox retains the same in Borderlands 2.

Some of the best guns and gun 'feel' in any game.

I've said it elsewhere, but if BL2 has the same breadth and depth simply as a shooter. I'll be shooting guys in the game.

Aside from the game-breaking weapons that anyone who plays Borderlands knows about, the shooting is just so great. It would be nice to have a few more meaningful stats listed, like muzzle velocity - and the +/- stats that were already included in the displayed stats maybe removed.

ok i think people are praising the guns in the game a wee bit to much.. yes the game was fun but to go as far as saying the shooting is great? um no it wasn't, it was broken as hell.. shotgun to enemies face, no registered hit.. fire a sniper rifle into enemies face no registered hit.. sorry but the aiming was garbage, it was a 1 in 5 chance you actually got a sniper kill from more then 50 yards away. if an enemy was hiding behind a wall and you could clearly see the guys head over the wall you still couldn't shoot them.

there are a ton of things they could fix as far as shooting goes. but that being said even with its problems its still a fun game(other then the insanely boring and short main story line).

Sorry but try paying attention to the accuracy stats on your weapons. There's a reason it's listed. A rifle with 98% accuracy can hit just about anything from a long distance, but something with 94% or 95% isn't going to cut it. The aiming was fine; you just didn't pick the right weapons.

Man I never had such problems. I would wreck shop with a high accuracy sniper rifle with the Sniper Class.

The thing I'd like to see is better sound in the game. The explosions and gun sound effects were kind of weak imo.

And maybe an upgrade/customization shop for weapons. I've come across some sweet sniper rifles that I would much rather of had a low zoom or red dot site on it.

Never had a problem with aim as well. Remember, it's part CRPG. Not only did you have toon levels, you also had weapon proficiency levels as well as skill points.

My "Mordecai" toon really wasn't proficient with machine guns or shot guns, but give him a pistol or sniper rifle, and he was unstoppable at any distance. Even with lower power pistol & sniper rifles were more powerful than higher power machine guns and shotguns.

My Roland toon couldn't hit jack with an all powerful sniper rifle, but devastating with a mediocre machine gun.

Soooooo looking forward to this! I have 100+ hours in vanilla Borderlands and it's one of the more memorable gaming experiences I've had in a long time.

Great to finally read some solid news on Borderlands 2 !

Shown in 2 weeks, I certainly hope that means someone will leak a video :D

Borderlands is nothing but a great game, the incarnation of massive "replay-ability".

Regarding the high praise of gun physics of Borderlands, people need to settle down and get realistic. It´s an arcade shooter with massive flaws in ballistics and physics. For example you have to aim a good deal in front of enemies running, even at 10 yards range, it´s a very wrong way of dealing with gun physics, but one that you can easily adapt too. Borderlands has nothing on CS, even CS:S despite their flaws. I am hoping BF3 is going to be the king of gun physics and of course Borderlands 2 as well, but I am not counting on it. It´s an arcade FPS.

Stop using shitty weapons

I had no such trouble

Sigh... Maybe you thought I was using shitty weapons, fair enough. Thing is I wasn´t. Solid projectiles from a specific type of gun or rifle travel with the same speed in this game regardless of other stats.

For instance I am getting this poorly coded engine problem with maximum accuracy snipers with my hunter all class modded up. So are others.. maybe you need to check your lag ;)

I'm a little worried about this game actually. Pitchford's ego has grown huge recently and I hope he can deflate it enough to realize that the first game has some problems that need to be fixed for this game to be really good. Though his current attitude is not filling me with a lot of hope.

aw man, timed missions? i hate timed missions.

that being said, i am looking forward to it, i spent a lot of time laughing and just enjoying this game.

i'm a wondering what the new melee class will be, with the original chars as NPCs now...

A valid concern.

Not thrilled about timed missions, either.
