*Warm* Samsung F4 2TB $69.99 Free Ship @ Newegg

These are a decent deal but I am still waiting for these to hit the $60 price point. Maybe in a month or two.

I am surprised the 4TB drives haven't released yet either to push prices down even more. You can't really complain about $35 per TB prices though.

This is a pretty good deal. Id say its hot. Im a Western Digital man myself, but I dont usually hear too much bad about Sammy's hard drives. 2TB for $70 shipped aint shabby at all.

Bastards! I just bought 5 of these last week at $80 :p

How are these as boot drives?

Not that great in comparison to other drives I've used (7200rpm that is). My Windows Home Server 2011 has two in RAID1 as the boot partition, and it's not very snappy starting up. After startup, it bearable, but then again they run Home Server and I don't put too much strain on applications or the GUI.

Sustained transfers and media use are exceptional on these drives from my experience.

Good luck. Seagate bought Samsung's hard drive division. Not sure how this will shake up things.

These are excellent drives for file servers, I have about ten of them and not one has ever been a problem.

^^^ what he said! I've got 3 in my server and they run great as secondary drives for mass storage and streaming.

I have a total of 6 Samsung Eco Type drives (3x 2tb, 2x 1.5tb & 1x 1tb) in my server (was WHS V1 & now is using Amahi with greyhole drive pooling) and there all great drives. I have had no problems out of any of them which is alot better then I can say for the 3x WD green drives that dies right before I started buying Samsung.

Great drives and quick for a file/media server. Transferring to my server I get 90-100mb/s with a single drive.
