League of Legends -- how many [H] regulars?

Red is beneficial for casters as it is now. It's a slow, thats massive for anyone. Any kind of cc is helpful for a character + the DoT is handy.

Well let me put my point this way: Red buff on a DPS character is like having frozen mallet minus the health between the bonus (true) damage and the slow. Red buff on a caster is like Crystal Scepter on a caster, minus the health/AP/slowing effect triggering on skill usage. Sure, you can still get the slow effect on a caster but it changes the playstyle (I rarely see squishies autoattack in team fights until the very end, and even then it's just to hit that fleeing enemy with 20hp). Seems to me that the DPS is getting a much better deal here.

Sure, but Caster's gain more from having blue than DPS does. When all your damage comes from you skills, the cd reduction + mana recovery is huge vs when most your damage comes from auto attack.

The gap between the benefits isn't as large for blue, though. Everyone benefits from the CDR it has, and most DPS champs were designed to be mana starved so blue gets rid of that aspect. The damage may come from autoattacks, but all the gap closers and steroids cost mana that blue provides with recharge. There's a reason most junglers (generally not casters) start at blue, and never gank without it. Red is the DPS money buff, but blue isn't exactly a waste on them either.
 
6-0-11 last night, my second game with Corki. That's my kind of carry. Some of the best poking, incredibly damage and an escape. unguhngunhugnh

Dorans Blade - Boots 1, Phage and some pots on the first trip back, then finished Zerkers and Trinity, then went for a Bloodthirster after that since.

Corki does have an incredible poke. I love Corki, he is a fantastic carry, makes up for lack of CC with poke and escapability not to mention great dmg.
 
I am finding an HP based dps wukong kicks a lot of ass.

Going for warmogs, then atma's, then building up a sunfire and finally a Frozen mallet to give you 4.6 k health makes you both stupidly hard to take down + a lot of dmg output.

I was usually going DPS with him for the past week, things like IE/Starks, or cleaver/bloodthirster, etc. However I found his sustainability/health too low and in team fights he could get focused quite fast.

So going with this kind of build I was able to still do good dmg, but stay alive and be the one to initate team fights and focus my ulting on their casters/channelers.

Nothing like going up against a fiddle or galio, seeing them start to ult or flash for ult (in galio's case) and then hitting your R to stop it.

I can't wait til they fix his bugs, like the major dmg bug on his ult (only doing base dmg, not the extra from your AD, which is huge). I do good with him now so with that fix it should be insane.
 
Anyone here play daily? I just started getting back into the swing of things with LoL. Yesterday I went on a pugging rage soo many fails out there. I just started playing LoL again last week. Last time I played was in Beta and I played it like a mad man back then :). Only at lvl 20 so I cant do any ranked matches yet :(

I played Nunu early today. seems really good early game but as the game goes on he's too easy to counter.
 
The only point to playing Nunu was his superb counter-jungling and nasty slow ganks. I don't think I've seen a single one since they nerfed his slow and consume, wonder if he's still viable much. End game he just becomes a bloodboil bot.
 
For those of you that play ranked matches, got a few questions. How many characters do you guys end up finding yourselves playing? Myself, it was 6 champs for awhile but I recently started playing Ryze again so that bumps it to 7. I stopped playing Ryze for awhile after his change (AP to mana) because that fucked his rune page completely up, at that time I decided to learn Xin Zhao and he took ryze's rune page. In case anyone is wondering and will ask the champs from most played to least played is: LeBlanc, Tristana, Sion, Malphite, Xin Zhao, Shen, Kassadin, Ryze.

The other question is, how many rune pages do you guys have? I bought my 5th page this last week (have got all with IP). 3 of them are setup for specific champs, Trist, Xin and Ryze. Then I have a AP carry page which I believe 3 champs use, lastly a tank page. Tank page is mainly just for Shen actually, very rarely will I play Rammus, unless they are ad heavy and I'm forced to tank. Some of you are probably thinking, what about Malph? I have his masteries setup as tank, but I use the AP carry page with him. I really like the extra bit of damage you get for harassment that way, his q is so awesome.

Lastly, may as well throw this in, what about masteries? I'm using all 10.
 
The first thing I actually paid for in LoL was the 7 additional rune pages, and I haven't bought much else. I just couldn't see myself saving up the 20k+ ip I'd need. You can probably buy all 450 and most 1350 champs, or just 3 rune pages. :p

In ranked I play jarvan, ww, singed, vayne, brand, cait, and cho, roughly in that order at this point. I should really pick up a support, I just don't trust people at around 1300 enough to support for them and I'm playing with a lower elo friend now so I won't be going up too much anytime soon.
 
I have 5 rune pages, and 6 mastery pages, I play amumu, taric, singed, yorick, trist, corki,annie, soraka, janna, warwick, blitzcrank and more than a few others, it all depends on what fits the team comp best. :D

the Magma chamber I thought was a different map then the one shown in that Dominion video. It didn't look very magma like lol. I think that map isn't Magma chamber and we'll get both down the line.

It's about time, playing the same map gets a bit old, especially since it's basically the same map as Dota/HoN, just reskinned with small differences.

I always wondered why no one has tried both different maps + game modes. Good thing it looks lilke they are.

I mean I love the MOBA style gameplay, but I think it'd be nice if they took it further, have like all kinds of game modes, from your standard nexus kill style we have, to king of the hills, last man standing, other strange things.

I remember playing tihei classic Myth II: Soulblighter back in the day, it was the only RTS that had sooooo many different modes, it made mp such a blast and kept it fresh beceause of the huge variety. IT wasn't just your standard shit either, king of the kill,l etc They had all kinds of unique/off the wall modes (like steal the bacon, etc).
 
You're right, they really should just go off the hook with this... but that's not the way of devs today. The least possible work is what they shoot for, not the coolest game.

I would like to see CTF but i doubt it'll happen :(

CTF would be way to broke. (Singed, Kassadin) I mean Kassadin would be infinitely op
 
I would LOVE some 2v2 as well!!

As for CTF, there are plenty ways to balance it. Make teleports drop the flag, or make the flag heavy and slow the person down. Sure it may not be perfect balance, but would you call the current game perfect balance? lol

So it'd be worse than TT's meta is. You'd have Mundos and Singed playing, that's about it. Lol.
 
I still don't see the problem... make it so that any move which would move the flag faster than the set movement speed of say, 300, drops the flag.

And it really is no surprise that in a game with classes, the tanks would be the best FC's...

It's never going to happen, so it's not like it matters... but this game is already so imbalanced i'm surprised it's the reason they state for not implementing new maps or game modes or... whatever.

In what ways do you find it imbalanced?
 
For CTF all they have to do is balance and limit heroes so that:

1. No invis (IE Eve, twitch, etc)
2. No flash (Ez/Kass, etc)
3. No move speed buffs.

Basiaclly they could make it so that all heroes have the same movespeed for that game type, no flash/ghost, etc permitted, no invis or anything like that.

I think I'll finally give this game a shot over the weekend. Complete noob to LoL and DotA games in general, hope I don't get killed too badly.

I hope you have a good time, the community can be a little brutal at times but its a great game. Definitely worth the money ;)

Stop thinking of it as a deathmatch. If it's a CTF then obviously you can't have people that have an absurd movepsed or flashes, otherwise whichever team gets them, it's gg.

I mean think about it, if someone gets your flag or whatever and they have ghost/unlimited flashes (ez/kass) there's just NO way to catch them. It'd be absurd.

That's why you'd limit it (for only that agme mode), so it's fair and depends more on team work insted of who runs or flashes more.
