Anyone else having problems with the game? I tried updating to 11.7 and it didn't help. I get random freezes (usually walking by windmills or a chopper running overhead is causing computer to lock up).

There is a known issue with BC2:
Running gpu monitoring software such as MSI afterburner or gpu-z while playing can cause these crashes.

So I close MSI afterburner when playing, then I open catalyst control panel and jack my fan speed up manually to a sufficient level before playing BC2.

Just thought I'd throw this out there and see if it may be your problem.

Right after i setup my 6970 Tri-Fire setup i would play and my system would crash, It took me some reading here in these forums to find out any GPU monitering i was doing for temps was the cause of the crashes. Now im error free! BTW im usaing the 11.7 and newest caps, Runs fine in a 1/2/3 card setup. One other thing could be your problem, Are you running with VSYNC on within the game? I had to turn Vysnc on because my cards where overheating due to the superhigh frame rates i was getting, It was going in the 4000+ in some menus and during gameplay it was way to high. I enabled Vysnc and it also helped some random lockups.

I'll try running with Afterburner off.

I am running Vsync on, but I don't think temps will be a problem as both my cards are watercooled.

this, i got so frustrated trying to figure it out. now i run 0 monitoring apps and i have never crashed since. disabled my win7 desktop widgets and everything

I have the same exact problem. I think it's CCC or Steam causing it. It's frustrating as all hell. Is there an easy way to keep my OC/fan settings and turn off CCC? Could it also be the GPU/memory widget?

I have all 3 of my fans at 85% in CCC it gets a little Loud, other then CCC i have Zero things running now in the background and it never crashes anymore. I think if you have a Widget running that my cause some conflict. I have been doing some digging and some people claim any of these apps doing the monitering is interfering with PunkBuster hence causing a problem.

It's actually an issue with Punkbuster when it scans your memory(vRAM I believe). I get the same symptoms when playing a BF2 mod that uses PB. Really annoying.

I still get random CTDs when running in eyefinity resolutions but yes, any monitoring applications will cause lockups and crashes cause BC2 is a bit of a bitch.

had the same problem. after i turned off msi afterburner i didnt get any lock ups. but i had couple desktop crashes, so i turned down MSAA and AF. im guessing my 1GB cards cant handle eyefinity with these settings up....

No. The issue is with Vanilla BC2 (not Vietnam) -- not your setup. This is a known issue, see my post above. Vietnam eyefinity should work fine, but EVERYONE on multiple monitor setups crashes to desktop in vanilla bc2 multiplayer. There is nothing wrong on your end.

well that sucks.... and i dont have vietnam to test myself. hmmm, after i turned down my settings for vanilla bc2, it seemed like it helped. played for over an hour and it didnt crash.

and thanks for that info

I seem to still have all kinds of crashing problems with BC2, even after I have turned off all monitoring programs....

Does anybody know if it's possible there is an issue with AMD triple crossfire and BC2? Can anyone with a tri fire setup confirm they have no issues?

Nuke i have a Tri-Fire setup ( 6970 ) and the one thing that helped was to turn on VSYNC, i think it was overheating my cards, The Witcher 2 does the same thing.
