Subaru: Official Escape Vehicle of the Zombie Apocalypse?

Since we're talking about zombies and all. I guess I'll answer with I'd drive around in this.

Optimus?

:D

Sure, I'll buy it. Obviously some kind of armored vehicle would be more resilant, but where are you going to get one of those? How are you going to keep it running?

An AWD rally car is a great combinatino of fuel effeciency, off road capability and speed.

I say nuclear submarine. Even with swimming zombies, they're unlikely to break into a submarine deep underwater. It can process all of it's own air, and desalinate water, and never needs to be refueled, since the reactor is sealed up when it's made, with 30 years or so worth of fuel inside. The only practical limits to how long it can go is how much food you can stuff inside of it, the sanity of the crew, and maintenance or repair needs.

Pretty good commercial, though I'm still not a fan of Subaru's.

I'd like to see how well that Subaru would hold up against a horde of 100+ zombies beating against it.

I'd say the "official escape vehicle" should be more like an Abrams tank.

thats right.... the M1A2 would definitely be the vehicle of choice.... ill even sit there with it parked for a while :D

there are like 10 tanks just 5 minutes from my house....

if ur goin AWD get the bowler wildcat...

300 WHP with AWD and the boxer rumble. Even gods fear this car. <3 Subaru!

WRX has 260HP, STI itself only 300HP.

Big difference from 300WHP, unless one retunes and mods the car.

I'll take an armored bank truck thank you very much.

Then again, if you're really smart you've been planning for the apocalypse for years and shouldn't really need to leave your house if you're already properly prepared ;)

I'll stick with my S/C Crown Vic, I only plan to drive far enough away to setup some 500m shooting ;)

in some crazy scenario where zombies actually overrun the world, the roads will be filled with abandoned cars and no vehicle is going to be able to just bulldoze through them or roll over them indefinitely.

Get a large enough blimp to have a hydroponics farm onboard? :D

 Everyone already knows the official escape vehicle would either be the Challenger in the mall after you fill it with gas and hope to god you can get that bridge down. Or Gordons car with the gun attachment. I think Valve should re do that comericial with the l4d2 crew and car. [H]ell, Valve thought of it first anyway.

The car in the ad is identical to mine, with the exception of the roof bars. With AWD, a great horsepower to weight ratio, and extremely nimble handling it would be perfect for ANY apocalypse! Subaru FTW!

How a car with breakable windows and is low enough to the ground that with a broken window zombies can reach in and attack you is perfect is beyond me. (shrugs)

If it's not somewhat high up, somewhat armored, and has high storage capacity than it can't be perfect. The ability to bring your resources with you is vitality important to your survival.

im just saying... this is probably the best bang for the buck...

Remember Event Horizon? ;)

You just listen to the Pork Chop Express and take his advice on a dark and stormy night!

I'd take a different approach. A Carrera 4S. Zombies generally can't run that fast. It does have issues of storage though...

It isn't just 1 pack of zombies you need to run from; they're everywhere. Plus, roads are probably clogged already. So you'd do 0-60 in about 4 seconds...and then run out of road.

Also, that's why I want the 4S, all-wheel drive. If there are zombies about, I don't care if it gets a bit beat up, it's still fast and able. Do a bit of A-Team welding, and I don't think you could do better for a light-class zombie fighter craft.

I'm sorry but have you driven a car? All wheel drive is great, I had it in my Subaru, but it's not just about how fast your car is or what wheels are being driven. It's about ground clearance. The second you take any Porsche off road or say over a speed bump you are going to get stuck and subsequently eaten by zombies. So, like, have fun with that.

What is awesome, is that we are actually debating the relative strengths and weaknesses of various vehicles in a Zombie Apocalypse scenario.

I don't drive a subaru, but what do you drive? An all american ford/dodge/chevy? lol........

I, for one, think it is high time we started bashing our neighbor's heads in and feasting on the tasty goo inside.

Zombies are real they hang around forums all the time. And to whoever said they dont run that fast you must not have played left for dead....They are fast as [H]ell!

I bet you could survive with the Dukes of Hazard car. It was indestructable. (It could jump higher than any damn rally setup subaru!)

around here we call Subaru the Official Car of Colorado and it's not really a joke.
