EA’s Representative confirms plans for Battlefield 2142s sequel

i will play the shit out of this if it comes to fruition.
 
Woot!! I loved 2142 as much or maybe more than BF2. That is great news and I'm not suprised since it's really a no brainer for Dice and a sure fire winner for them. Good stuff for sure.
 
BF2142 wasn't really my cup of tea as far as the BF series goes. Though a sequel in the new Frostbite engine intrigues me. :cool:

That is really strange. I am sitting here waiting on hold for EA support and was just holding my copy of 2142 in my hand and looking at the receipt (bought it at Circuit City for $37.99 on 10/23/06) and noticed this thread.

I too am a fan of the Battlefield series,

That could work...BF2142 was basically a mod of BF2 (albeit a very, very awesome one) so it should be alright. Then again, EA is planning a new BF game every two years so maybe it will get its own release.
 
BLeh. Battlefield hasn't been good since 1942. After that, the entire series was utter ass IMO. Fuck you EA for ruining my favorite series and screw you Trauma studios for being sellouts

sounds about right - bf2143 in fall 2012 on frostbite engine 2/ 2.5 is my guess.

Nah in all seriousness...If not one of the BF series has interested you since 1942 then I question how much of a fan you could have possibly been of the first one. Rose color glasses much?
 
Sounds awesome, hope the map won't crash when the Titan is moved this time around.;) I liked the ground combat in 2142, but I thought the air platforms were worse than BF2.

2142 fucking rocked. If there is seriously a sequel in the works I'm all over that like a Olivia Wilde butt naked covered in honey on my bed..:cool:

Games haven't been the same since Pong...:D

I guess the Battlefield game every 2 years approach didn't have the same volume as some others :p

Hopefully this pace doesn't cause community fragmentation issues.

No Mirror's Edge sequel then I guess for quite awhile.
 
2142 was alright,

so were the rest of the BF games but 1942 was the best and had the best scale form planes to battleships.. they just fit so well together. the scale has truely gone down hill since but that doesnt mean they arnt still fun but a full fledged 1942 remake on frostbite 2 would be glorious.

2142 is the battlefeild game i played the most realy loved it it was great, i have been hoping they would make another one
 
I played 2142 about 3500 hours (at least), but I am going to reserve any anticipation until I see how badly DICE ruins BF3.

Amazing how those graphics are comparable to the games we have now. Damn consoles.
