I won what I thought was just a 108 key model M with a PS2 connector on Ebay and when it arrived yesterday it turned out to be a 122 Key model with what I believe is an AT connector. The part number is 1386887 it was manufactured on February 6, 1995. I can't find much about this anywhere else online, so maybe someone here has some info.

Will this keyboard work normally if I get the proper adapters, or is this some kind of terminal model that won't work well with Windows 7?

Thanks.

Whooooo that sucks i hope you can get it working thats the same model m i used to have... Used.

Definitely post on Geekhack. Some of the members are very, very well acquainted with terminal Model Ms.

Also, you probably need to build an adapter to get it to work on a PC.

No. It probably uses an electrically different interface but a physically identical connector.

Well I think I'm going to purchase the adapter and hope for the best. If it doesn't work then I'll look into the info on geekhack some more.

Thanks guys.

Another vote for this being difficult to get working. But good luck and interested in how it goes.

Looks like a keyboard for an AS/400 terminal. I don't think they are compatible.

You can get it working under XP with some hackery, but for Vista/7 you're gonna need an adapter board. There is one currently in the works.

Even if I just want to use PS/2?

Correct. It's due to the way the AT protocol is handled in windows.
