well if its any indication when I RMA'd a 6800GT 2 years ago, I got a GTS250 lol
I RMA'd a 256MB 7900GT several years ago. It was a few years past the 7900's release so was also intrigued.
I got a 512MB 7950GT instead.
Nice. XFX only gave me an 8500.well if its any indication when I RMA'd a 6800GT 2 years ago, I got a GTS250 lol

Unless they have some older fixed cards on hand, happy medium's probably right about what you'll get. The 7900 was a great card in its day; the 220 has about 3x the shader power (modern games are typically shader bound making it the best comparison number), and isn't too far behind on texture performance. The 210 is much closer on shader power; but falls far behind on everything else.

A 220 wouldn't be equal, I had a 7900GT, an 8600GTS was a serious downgrade and the 8600GTS and 9500GT are faster than the GT220
A 8600gts would be easily faster than a 7900gt. I hope your kidding?
Look at the specs.

Here is a chart showing a 8600gts = 2 7900gt's in SLI in Call of Duty 4.
Even the slow ass plain 8600gt is just a hair slower than a 7900gtx.

something is wrong in those charts, it shows a few cards in SLI running slower than the Single card.
GTX 280 shows 178fps for Single, and 147fps for SLI, and a Single GTX 260 running only 1fps slower than an SLI'd 280.
Is there something wrong with SLI and that game?
well seems EVGA is trying not to rma the card. Keep having answer stupid question's. Over 23 emails for 4 day's. These card were known to have bad RAM weren't they?
Stop being lazy and make a phone call.
EVGA has been working out the new SKUs to resolve the issues that some users are experiencing with artifacting during 3DMark06 and random games; we have been manufacturing new cards based on a new AVL list.
Here are the details on the new 7900 cards:
"New" AVL Memory (Approved Vendor List)
RoHS compliant
Test results are extremely positive

WOW They sent me another 7900GT!? after 6 Years they actually have some left? WTF everyone gets a better up grade replacement, And I get same old card lol.
At the end of the day take whatever they give you for a 6+ year old card with good grace.
With good grace? What? If they offer a lifetime warranty they better deliver something of equal or greater performance. That warranty is a selling point, not a sticker, and they sure as hell better honor it.
