Purchased mortal kombat for 360 and im impressed. I like this game way better than the previous games. If anyone wants to " Test their might" online add my gamer tag "FlammableSLOW50" ......................Enjoy

Blows you have to pay another $10 for a "used" copy of the game to play online. Fucking gay...

It was definitely one of the better surprises this year.

Enjoyed this game thoroughly, but oh my poor poor bruised thumb. Brings back such memories too. I wasn't really expecting much with all the substandard sequels, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Shit, now I may have to go pick up a new copy, I loved MK2 back in the day.

If you liked MK II you need to get this. It plays more like MK II than any of the sequels and has a similar feel in a lot of ways. As far as I am concerned this new game is the best sequel to Mortal Kombat since MKII.

Im in total agreement with this statement

that statement sold me, I've been really on the fence for a while about this game, now I just need to find it for $40 or less.

it's not so much that i'm a penny pincher, but I just see no reason to pay full price for games when there's deals to be had.

Don't buy second hand or you'll be stung for a Kombat Pass to play online.

I enjoy this game too. It's more forgiving than SSF4 on the timing of special attacks and combos which is why I like it more.

The thing I don't like about the game is that it takes forever to search for an online match and half the time, the session drops. King of the hill is buggy too. Freezes my system which requires a hard reset from time to time. I'm playing on the PS3 if that makes a difference.

They released the DLC which includes the Klassic costumes for Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, Mileena, Kitana, Ermac, and Jade earlier this week. Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Reptile klassic fatalities are included as well. I like this game so much that I made my first ever DLC purchase for it.

Completely agree , I played Ultimate MK3 and it was meh. The rest of the MKs in 3D were total garbage that I avoided.

So glad its in good hands now.

Yeah sadly the online play isn't very good. It also feels laggy and the timing is off compared to single player games.

yeah this is by far the best MK since MKII. MK3 was cool and UKM3 was better. MK4 was interesting when they went 3D. Then they went with Deadly Alliance and it just got silly (3 different stances and a weapon? wtf?).

If you haven't played the story mode yet, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend doing so. It is by far the BEST fighting game story mode I've ever seen in a game. No joke. Do it. I beat it twice and opting to beat it a 3rd time. Yeah it's that good.

The multiplayer can be a lot of fun when you get a good connection. If there is even the slightest lag though, it can ruin the game. King of the Hill is really bad about this. I hope they improve or fix the netcoding soon (so I heard they are working on it). None of my friends play this game (probably because I'll rape them and they know it) and I wished they did.

I'll get a good connection with another person from time to time. The funny thing is sometimes I'll get paired up with a beginner and I'll repeatedly demolish him yet he'll accept multiple rematches. My belief is that he finally found a match that doesn't drop or lag and just wants to play. I take this opportunity to test the waters with other characters and try out combos and specials.

I downloaded the patch on PSN and now 90% of my matches drop. I even lost the ability to use the klassic costumes that I bought!

It's funny how the PS3 version looked to be shaping up to be the definitive version of the game yet the thing never does seem to work right. It seems far more bug ridden and shitty than the XBOX 360 version. However, some of, if not most of that blame really falls on Sony's shoulders for PSN being so crappy.

Maybe it's just my mediocre play style, but I haven't really noticed much trouble with online play. Sure I get a laggy connection once in a while but out of ~250 total matches played online I'd say only a handful (less than a dozen) had any real lag issues.

That said, it does take way too long to find matchups on player mode... anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes usually. I guess I might find matches quicker if I were playing ranked, but I'm just playing for fun.

Then again, some people take their records pretty seriously even in unranked mode, judging by the number of times I've had people disconnect on me after I beat them.

It's just about as long of a wait for ranked matches as it is for player matches lol. I alternate between the two after about of a minute of waiting but had more luck with player matches.

Just picked up used for $35 at Gamestop and I got a free code for Kombat Pass so I didn't have to fork over and extra $10.

So far, its pretty damn entertaining, pays omage to the classic in alot of ways which is a GOOD thing IMO. The fatalities and X-ray are just cringing to watch with some downright shocking. This isn't my 1994 MK2 I used to remember, thats for damn sure, the violence is into the holy shit factor now

Can't decide wether to use analog or d-pad, both are frustrating to get moves done right.

I use the Analog stick on the 360 and the d-pad on the PS3. Takes a while to get used to the analog stick on the 360 but its where my thumb feels more natural and once you get used to it, it works pretty well.

I got it from the 2 for $50 sale from Toys'r'us last week. I have to say this is the best console game I've played in years. The story mode was fantastic. I rarely have more than an hour or two at a time to play a game now adays, but I ended up staying up till 2:30 last Saturday to finish the story. Combined with the $40 Tekken fight stick on Amazon, I've had a great experience for dirt cheap.

I sunk more time than I can remember into the first two MK games and like others felt the series just got a bit ridiculous after that. I think 3 was the last one I bothered to buy. This one was just good old classic fun.

I agree, the story mode really sucked me in alot more then I expected it to. I was up till 2 A.M the first night with it playing storyline, practicing moves and fatalities and I was having a blast! I haven't had that fun with MK since MK2 back in 1994. After MK3, MK just died for me IMO, I never cared to get back into it, it was turning into a joke.

Some of the X-ray moves/fatalities are so shocking that even the game/internet veteran that I am surprised me enough to where I was saying out loud "Duuuude, owwww..... holy fuck! Ouch! Ewwww!" Kitana's x-ray move is a jaw dropper and Noob Saiboots fatality is just downright disturbing

And dont' even get me started on the unlocking goodies in the bloodbath swamps, this game makes Duke Nukem blush.

Got this today. I've never seen so much input-reading by computer-controlled opponents in a fighting game since DOA4.

There is supposed to be a GOTY version of this game which includes all of the DLC available. Some may already know this, but I figure I bring to some people's attention instead of paying $12 for all DLC characters, and whatever else for Retro Costume packs.

Save your money and get the supposed "Komplete Edition" and get everything without paying extra.

I've got this version, and some "kontent" that you would normally unlock in the "Krypt" such as alternate costumes and the second fatalities are all available to begin with. All DLC, including the retailer-exclusive pre-order shit for Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Reptile, is all here too.

I already had everything on my copy so unless the Komplete Edition has something new I'll pass. Fun game though.

Komplete Edition has Skarlet, Kenshi, Rain and Freddy Krueger also

I already bought them as DLC awhile back. I got them as part of the summer pack so I think I paid $15 for all four of them. I got to download them all as they were released.
