I was told that they would refund shipping... I never used the mousepad, literally opened, put my mouse on it, saw how it slides and decided to return it. Shipped it back, took a while to get a refund, got my 19.99 back, but did not get the shipping refunded.

anyone else have this happen to you? Curious.

nm, missed part fo the post. Call them or email them and ask them

I didn't think people actually ever returned them. Had the same one for years now, its fantastic.

99% of retailers will not refund shipping if there was no problem with the product and it was just your decision to return it, even if it is unopened. Who told you it would be refunded? One of their reps or something?

edit: Reread your post and realized you DID open it. Yeah there's no way they will refund your shipping also.

There was a long while where they did a promotion where if you didn't like it, they would buy it back, and pay shipping. I don't see anything about it on the website anymore though.

How else am I supposed to know if I like it? Lol. It was shipped in a USPS envelope, as soon as I open the envelope, I open the package. I was told by Email from them that thy would refund once received it back. I was curious if that took longer. I sent them an email.

How much is shipping 5 bucks? Things that tight?

Bottom line is that was the promotion, don't flame him for wanting a company to make good on its promise.

nope. no answer.

Yes, will refund shipping to you. Ratpadz was closed for two weeks while on vacation. Sorry we missed the shipping on this. Simply email me your PP receipt and I will get your shipping refunded immediately. [email protected]

Please supply me with a receipt for your return shipping expense.

I've gone back to my QCK Heavy because I can't get the Ratpadz XT to stay flat. If it didn't bow it would be my mouse pad of choice. Gonna keep trying to get it to be flat though.

Received shipping refund. All is well. Those who are considering trying or buying the Ratpadz XT, please go ahed and make the purchase. The company is good and quick on shipping, what happened to me was not the usual.

According to many people Ratpadz is a great mousepad therefore do not let my experience deter you from purchasing it. Kyle was very friendly and quick.

thank you [H]

I bought a Ratpadz XT about 3 years ago. It's nice at first but after 2-3 months the texture starts to wear off. About one year in and the texture where the mouse moves most often was just as flat as any other mousepad, negating what I bought it for.

2-3 months? I really doubt that was an XT. Even with 24/7 operation on an XT in 2-3 months an XT will not wear like that unless your mouse is somehow grinding it down.

I have had mine for well over 3 years and its texture is still in great condition and I use my computer at least 20-30 hours a week (probably closer to 40).

I think you're confusing the XT with the GS. The GS is not very robust and the surface wears down after a few months. The XT is very durable and mine has not worn down at all after about 2.5-3 years of daily use.

Interesting... GS sounds very familiar... that must have been what I had and eventually tossed out, replaced with another, because it did that. Didn't realize there was a difference.

Simple Question....

Does Wal-mart (or any other store) refund your gasoline when you have to make the trip back to return it?

This is what I would tell customers when they had to RMA something at a online computer parts store I worked at.

In regards to the OP it looks like Kyle said it would....which surprises me.

Ratpadz ran a promotion in which they advertised that they would cover the shipping costs if you weren't satisfied and returned your pad. All OP was doing was asking for them to honor their promotion, which he is entitled to do.

Kyle stands behind his company and product, why wouldn't he?

You will sell a lot more by offering a money back guarantee for a product you believe in so much that you will offer it back, the few scamming assholes will be drowned out by those who buy it because of how firmly you stand behind your product.

I look at Logitech products that way, I so loved my MX518, I bought another one last month, a few years after buying my original MX518, I know fully well that if I have a problem with my mouse, all I have to do is email Logitech and they will mail me another one, no questions asked.

I can support a company like that.

ditto. thats why I loved logitech. Sure, their drivers and software installs were crap (are getting better) but their hardware and the way their customer service stands behind it was topnotch.

Same thing with the ratpadz. I originally bought a GS. The texture wore quickly for me. I ended up shelving it (later tossed due to great closet cleanup). Ran with a few other pads for a few years. I ended up giving the XT a shot and its still going strong. Hell I havnt even washed it in about 6 months and its still silky smooth. Texture is still the same over 99% of the board (there is a spot in the middle where my mouse "home" is that shows slight wear, but hardly noticable)
After using it for some time, i do wish it had a slightly lower profile, and maybe another 2" all around, but its still good

I go out of my way to support a company like that. Customer service and standing behind products should be the ahllmark of any company, it is a shame that it isn't.

That was a GS which was moved to our "non-enthusiast" product. We have a lot of folks that still like those, but they are not up to heavy usage.

That promotion has become policy. :) And certainly no problem with asking.

Thank you sir! That is appreciated.

Ah perhaps. To be honest I don't even remember there were separate models. I thought only one existed and that it was called XT, but it was some years now.

If that one doesn't wear off then it's a really nice mousepad

Just thought I woud pop in and say my second XT arrived today. I left my other one in FL with my desktop by accident and since I am in NC for a month I decided to go ahead and get another for my laptop since this cloth POS is making my mouse skip. Thanks again for the great product Kyle.
