2011 Intel Summer Deal

How long does it normally take to receive the goods?
They said they are shipping within 6 weeks. ick
 
Can someone post the policies and restrictions stated when purchasing? Also are there quantity restrictions?
 
prices so low as always. i wish i can get in on this :(. congrats to everyone that was able to get one, whether you work in retail or nagged your friends to give you their paystub haha.

now i'm guessing the sale subforum will be flooded with these products, so be prepared for the average selling price of these items to decrease
 
I'm curious to see how fast those 970s sell out. $190 seems like a ridiculously good deal considering they go for nearly $600 on Newegg...
 
Already ordered but just curious... is the shipping the same if you order 1 or 2 items?
 
Does anyone know if past Retail Edge deals had limited quantities, and if they sold out and how fast if so?
 
past did not say limited quantities. ssd's did sell out last time.
 
I am debating if the 160gb is a big enough drive for everything I want to run off of it with the 1tb on the side... Let me just say, Steam....
 
I cant even order, I have a lot of chips and I am verified. Below is what it says and I can't even find out what the hell I have to do.
"You must complete the required trainings listed on this page to purchase".
 
at the bottom of the page there's a list of articles and things you have to complete quizzes for.

I will check again, i couldn't find any links though when I looked. Their system is hit pretty hard right now.

I dont find the ssd's to be that great of a deal anyways, I am shooting for the processors.

Had to finish other articles.

wont be links, there is a list of required learnings you have to take before you can order. You will have to view the list then go back and find the learninings (they have a sort by not taken) which is easy way to find all of them
 
Can someone post the terms and conditions please? I'm curious if it explicitly calls out 'only for use of the account holder', or 'not for resale' or what not.

That sounds like our sister site exclusive to retail chains in North America, whereas this version of Intel® Retail Edge Program is exclusive to service providers such as AT&T*, and the Learnings here are generally geared toward mobile devices. At this time, it does not feature a Purchase Program.

I was trying to delete it because I had already found the answer and didn't need to follow up. I don't want to ruin it for anyone, I was just trying to understand the legality of having a friend buy something for me.
 
I really wish they had MB/CPU combos. I got the i7 970 then found out the motherboards are really expensive (although tons of extras) and the 2600k is much faster for gaming. The hard drive didn't really seem like a good deal and I already have a SSD.
 
Trying to get my employment verified. I want the 970 as it will fit nicely in my x58 Classified!

I honestly dont believe that 2600K would be any faster at gaming. if you really think that than I will let you think that way, but at high res it would not make a difference, i7 970 is one hell of a processor for that price. 2600K being much faster in gaming is a myth to be honest.

^but the 2600k will hit 4.0 GHz at stock voltage and actually run at reasonable temps. My 970 hits 100 C when I linpack at 4GHz, and I don't want to watercool or run ridiculous RPM fans.

So for all intents and purposes an air cooled 2600k will have better FPS than a 970. Especially at 1920x1200 and below...
 
My 2600k I bought here does 4.5, everything on auto. Clock for clock, 2600k is faster than the 970 and add the OC ability, it will only add up in favour of sandy bridge. Only reason to get a 970 is if you already have x58 socket and want to upgrade.

My 970 does 4gz at stock voltages.
 
Yall think the 970 @ 175 or the 2600k @ 100 for folding?
 
I'm running a 970 now I picked up during the last deal. I'll probably get a 160G SSD and either of the CPUs. The 970 was pretty easy to get to 4.4 on air and I doubt there would be a significant enough gain in gaming performance would be worth a whole new setup.

The price on the 970 is a bigger $$ savings but wouldn't there be a bigger demand for the Sandy?
