Fry's Anniversary Sale: Hot dog and coke for 50 cent :D - i7 2600k for $250

I picked up the Onkyo receiver in the ad for $299. It's the new HT-RC360. $449 at the egg I believe.

Yeah, I would love to grab one of those. I currently have the HT-R540, which is great in its own regard (110/ch, 7.1, etc), but lacks HDMI. It'd definitely simplify things having the receiver do the switching.

Might scoot over there tomorrow for some cheap dogs. Here in Vegas, cheap dogs are not rare if you go to the Sports Book at certain casinos on football Sundays. Vienna beef dogs are around $.50 to $1 ea. Same dogs sell at sporting events for $4-$6.

Does Costco match there hotdog+coke deal?
How the hell is this even the same deal? The costco dog is like 4x larger and better IMO. Plus their drinks have free refills.

One Frys last year had the $.50 deal and they where selling 3" kiddie dogs. Was not even worth it. But the Frys I went to this year had more normal sized dogs. But even still slightly smaller than average

what brand is the plasma?

I always wondered why they put "MAJOR BRAND NAME" on those things. I mean is it just a really shitty TV brand? Or is it more of a regional thing, like every store might have a surplus stock of some specific brand of TV and those go on sale, but every store location can vary?

Certain manufacturers don't want their products being advertised below a certain price point (western digital hard drives are a good example), so they can't name the brand in the ad. You can call and ask what brand it is though.

Hmm... they doubled the price, used to be 25 cents for hot dog and coke last time I went for that deal, but that was many years ago.

Yeah, I had been looking at the TX-NR709 vs TX-NR609 before I saw this sale, but at this price I couldn't justify spending an extra $400+ for the additional features of the TX-NR709 which is what I had been leaning towards. I want the pre-outs on the 709 to get external amps someday, but it won't be for a couple years. Other than that, the amp section is a bit nicer and it has MultEQ XT that I would actually use. At this price I figured by the time I will actually get external amps I could pick up a new old stock 709 for at least $300 less than they sell for now making this an easy sell to hold me over.

I replaced an old TX-DS747 that only supported Dolby Digital, not even normal DTS,

I've never seen that at a Fry's. The hot dogs are the regular size you see in the market that come in an 8/10 pack. It's nasty gross anyways, but people eat anything that's cheap. :p

Sat in the parking lot of the Sunnyvale Fry's yesterday enjoying a hot dog and diet coke with some people with HP visitor badges.

Then I bought a laptop bag and a printer which took them an hour to find and it ended up being a return, and it is kinda broken.

Oh fuck that. I'm going back and getting a price match, or at least to complain.

Yes, this is a joke.
