[H]OT! Crucial M4 64GB SSD $115 shipped -ends 5/17

good deal.. Now I just want to see the c300's start going for 85
 
they just had this drive for $100 the other day, but still not too shabby

You lose TRIM support if you raid 2 drives together but gain read/write performance. I have owned a couple single drive SSD's as well as raided SSD's and I don't perceive a difference in speed between the 2 when using my computer normally (benchmarks tell a different story). If you are doing a lot of large file writes or reads raid may be better, but i doubt under real world usage you would actually feel a difference.

I say go with the largest single drive SSD you can afford.

Crucial's very late garbage collection allows the possibility for some very poor write speeds over time. If you're running in a configuration without TRIM support, I'd say this is enough to rule out the m4. Sure performance should recover with sequential write passes, however if your workload isn't sufficiently sequential then this could pose a problem. If you do have a TRIM enabled OS I'm not entirely sure how the m4 will behave over time.

Fantastic deal.
Makes me sad that I bought my vertex drive right before all these new ones starting popping up. :-(
 
I just missed the other deal @ 99$ but with 26$ in NewEgg giftcards, knocked this sucker down to $88. Can't complain about that.

Should do nicely replacing my old-as-hell-but-still-kicking 10krpm 36gb WD Raptor. Plus at full 6.0gb/s bandwidth on my new motherboard, strapping my seat belt in. Doesn't look like it comes with an adapter but pretty sure I can fanagle it into my case somehow.
 
FYI, the write speeds on the 64GB version are ultra-suck compared to the other sizes of M4.
