NZXT Hush 2

This IS going to be my next case. I love my NZXT Panzerbox, GREAT quality. The H2 looks like it will continue in that regard. I hope their will be a way to get the white case with a white front(or black), instead of the odd silver front.

I think I am going to get it as well. I don't have enough room in my Storm Scout :/

Is there a release date for USA? Or just "end of April"?

Yeah, The white is sexy. I would have bought the phantom but the looks were just to aggressive for my liking. I just wish it didnt have that silver front.

It's in stock on newegg, and on sale :) Been checking daily for this case every day but wasn't hopefully since I was hearing end of the month, but I got a email from newegg saying 10% nzxt cases, took a look, and there it was. So $99 - 10% coupon (promo EMCKFJE35) + $20 shipping.

Finally found a case to replace my old chieftec matrix mx that I liked the looks at a decent price ... I kept it alive for many years replacing the old 80mm fans with 92mm in the back and a 120mm in the front.

Ooo thanks for posting :) (not for me but for others in the US) looks like you get a good deal!

Pretty much as soon as a store stock it in white, i am pulling out the credit card.

Grrr its finally in stock in my cart ready to check out to be the first piece to my new computer build. UGH new computer or Daughter's college :confused:

Deleted it :(

Got mine today ... still on sale through tomorrow.

Overall I'm very happy with it - just a few minor issues. When I first got the box it rattled around quite a bit - turns out a bunch of the hard drive thumbscrews worked themselves out of the chassis. One of the magnets on the top fan cover was broken off, and the power LED doesn't work. I know it's the bulb because the HDD light works and if I swap the connectors (and polarity is correct) the power connector does light up the HDD LED

I do want to get it working again - the HDD LED is a nice soft white LED, not a super-bright blue one. I took off the cover plate and it looks like it's not too bad to replace, a screw holds it in place - should have measured it before I put it back together, didn't realize they come in 3mm/5mm ... seemed smaller so guessing 3mm. Dirt cheap on eBay pre-wired- hopefully they aren't too bright.

Probably not useful but a picture of the LED...

On second thought I'll try contacting NZXT support first ... never dealt with their products before, see if they'll take care of it.

im guessing this wont fit a 6950?

It will easily fit a 6950

VGA Clearance Maximum
310mm (12.2") w/o HDD, 270mm (10.6") with HDD

6970 = 27.31cm (10.75") approximately

6950 = 27.31cm (10.75") approximately

6870 = 25.08cm (9.87") approximately

5870 = 28.19cm (11.1") approximately

570 = 26.67cm (10.5") approximately

580 = 26.67cm (10.5") approximately

To follow up my previous issue, NZXT said they'd send a new power LED at no cost so I'm happy.

The only thing I wish they did differently in the case is the hard drive bays - who needs 8 bays in this kind of case which is intended for silence? It would be nice to have fewer bays spread out more for better cooling, and a 3.5" spot for my memory card reader.

That's very good of them :) +1 NZXT

I kind of agree with you, would nice to have removable pairs of drive bays or something.

Can someone tell me how to install the 3.5" drives? I see the manual says angle them in but those little rubber grommet pins on the other side get in the way of me dropping the drive in... lol. I must be retarded or something.

I couldn't figure it out either .. there didn't seem to be a way to attach the pins and then slot it into the bay. I ended up having all four pins in the tray and then angling in the two far pins into the hard drive, and then bending out the plastic to get the other side in. Took a few tries since the little rubber grommet would pop off the pins. They definitely need to cover this better in the manual, I see the same complaint on the newegg review

Yeah. I got it after some bending and some jamming in. It's not pretty.

The manual states that we should still use the screws which is why they gave us 41 screws (9 for the mobo, 32 for the 8x HDDs).

Interesting is that they show 16 thumbscrews lined up on the side of the HD trays? I have maybe 10 or so. Of those 10, 5 were flying around in the case when I got it. Disappointed.

Also the fan cover on the top side? I took it off and 2/4 of the magnets fell off the pin. It's like they were just meant to fall off. I'll definitely contact them about this.

My initial setup is done. I'm a little disappointed because my cpu temps are about the same as my Antec P160 where I had close to zero cable management. Then again I had to dismount my CPU fan today, so perhaps my remount was not as good.

But is it quieter? The point of this case is being quiet and neat and tidy and looking good, not the highest performing case.

The plastic pins holding the magnets do seem like a weak point, I had one broken as well. I also had a number of loose thumbscrews in the bottom of the case, and many that were close to being loose, though they were all accounted for.

Did some cable management. Much better. My SATA cables are kinda dangling out like a mess still but the rest is under control.

I looked at the IC Diamond 7 site again and found out I put too little this time. Lifted my CPU up and saw spreading only a quarter size. This time I put a pea drop on and my Linpack temps dropped 5-6 deg immediately. Looks good.

Quieter? Probably around the same. I had a fan controller attached to my previous case. 3x120mm fans @ 1300rpmish. The H2 case is definitely quiet by my means. I can't hear it above the roar of the other system in the room, but even with the H2 on alone it's pretty quiet in general.

BTW Jason, what's the upper right LED for. Is it the HDD LED? I probably didn't wire it right as only the bottom right is on (unless of course my upper right LED is broken too like yours was)

Ya, the upper right light is the hard drive activity light. Try swapping the power/HDD connectors as a test since you know the power LED is working. Honestly I could almost do without that light, with constant indexing etc it's always blinking once a second or so - will have to see if I can limit that. I just got my replacement LED today so I'm fully functional now.

Just got my H2. I do like it so far.

Question: I think with the open bottom and removable filter, I am going to mount my Corsair 620w PSU so that it sucks in from the bottom. It will sit on a desk, not on carpet. Thoughts?

That's what it's there for and you should take advantage of it. I know i will, i cut a hole in the bottom of my Antec 900 that i use at the moment so i could run it like this.

That's what I figured, but the instruction manual shows the PSU going in fan up. In any event, on my Corsair, the cables exit on the side closest to the mobo when it's in the normal orientation (fan down). This made the decision an easy one since the cables go neatly into slots for hiding the cables/management. In this orientation, I was able to run the smaller mobo power cable behind the mobo and up to the top rear corner slot, then over the edge of the mobo and plug it in. Very tidy, but just barely long enough. I would not have been able to do so with the PSU flipped over.

Build isn't done yet, so no opinions on quiet/cool performance. But, I do wish the front door was metal and not plastic, but for the price I guess I can forgive. I really wish the front door swung 180 degrees. That would give more case placement options.
