Nothing gets the Apple-faithful in a tizzy faster than an aticle like this. Well, there are a few other things that get their underwear in a bunch but Mac Malware is up there. ;)

When I clicked it on a PC, it redirected me to a fake AV screen that mimicked a Windows security screen. But when I did the same search on a Mac, clicking the poisoned image took me to this page: This campaign is obviously preying on the fears of recent Mac converts and technical unsophisticates, who might believe that their Mac really is infected.

can't believe the mac zealots comments on that site, lol

back on the topic, I have a feeling that the day that malwares, viruses attacks on mac users becoming a norm is about to happen though. lol, just need more mac user base out there :D

The rise of the iphone and ipad have opened the door to everything mac. Fantasy land is over.

This article is completely false. There are no viruses for the Mac.

A maxed out credit card is also a nice picture of how malware on the mac looks like. Governments are making malware not some pimple pie sitting in a bachelor flat in china. They put millions into developing the malware. All operating systems is vulnerable. Iran even hacked the Comodo servers stealing their keys.

Me too. Let's switch to Linux!

you mean from whom apple and windows both have stolen many of their security ideas (apple in particular)?

as far as apps go, if it ain't sudo it ain't gudo.

Ah, the faith of the true believer! Fanatics are the same no matter the religion.

hardcore apple fans remind me of some Odd Christian sects, if your not one of us, well, we will pray for ya, your surely going to hell.

to continue that analogy, the church doesn't have more members, becuase it doesn't offer what most people want, forbids its members from in indulging in sinful pleasures, "tho shalt not game on a mac" or tinkering with the underpinnings of the faith "open not the case of the holy mac, for you shall surely be damned by applecare".

And don't forget, you must tithe more to enter the Church of Jobs, too!

really, if macs are so awesome, everyone should have one by now, right. Apple does make some really nice consumer products, love my Ipod touch, an you cant swing a dead penguin without hitting an iphone these days. but damn, some people need to step off the high horse and realize that just becuase the platfrom they use is a bit harder to write virus code for, and is less desirable a target in the first place, that doesn't make them members of the one true faith.

Now that you mention it, if you say it without the "r," it's more like an Italian accent.

Makes sense. I'm 6.2% sure that Steve has Italian ancestry.

I was going to get my parents an iMac, but if this stuff keeps popping up, might as well keep them on what they know - Windows.

Why not get both :O.

I have windows and mac OS running on my macbook and I can tell you that my windows partition runs better on my mac than my desktop, it's quite comical.

Get their system setup, add a new administrator account for yourself, and change their account to a normal user. There is no malware out right now that will work without the user entering an administrator password.

it still seems strange to me that the "bad guys" have not hit Macs more - Mac users are supposedly higher income folks and those would be the ones you would want to hit. plus with their "smugness" they might be less likely to report an incident because then they would look like most other people

LMAO I heard about this the other day.. Apple tech support is int he same building as me & I was cracking up when they were describing this to me since its been common on PC's for some time.

Because if your going to devote a lot of time, money and effort to producing malware, do you really only want to target ~5% of the world...maybe less? The reason there are more attacks on PC's is because there's a bigger audience.

I agree with you, also which do you see more setting on an executive desk holding and having access to all of those important corporate files a Mac or a Windows PC?

I'm about as scared of Mac malware as I am of Al-Qaeda blowing up my house. I guess if I bought them a plane ticket, a fake ID, explosives, and let them stay at my place, it might happen. LOL.

Mac users don't need malware. They fuck the system up themselves.

Yep. My 50+ year old mother, who lasted 2 months on a well 'antivirused' PC bought a macbook and went without issue for 2.5 years. Oh wait, that doesn't support your post at all. My bad, lol.

I dunno how it will look like on a Mac the colour quality will probably a bit better but I known in Windows and Linux there normally written Pornhub ontop and a message saying click here for videos
