Best mouse for bigger hands?

I need a new mouse, have good size hands and would like a bigger mouse. I do play fps games, and would prefer something wireless but a cord is ok.

I'm not looking for the biggest mouse there is, just something quality that fits bigger hands well. I would also like something on the heavier side or with adjustable weights. I've looked at the rat mouses, some of the razers and logitech stuff but haven't settled on anything.
 
I vote for the Microsoft x8. It is big, and great for those of us with big hands. Partially wireless (well always wireless, but wired charging) and it has all the buttons I use to game. I truly started to prefer the up and down thumb buttons to the forward and back ones considering the large size of the mouse.
 
The biggest and maybe quite conformable is the Handshoe mouse which comes in three sizes. For myself I decided to get the Logitech Performance MX mouse which fits my hand far better than my old MX620 mouse. I prefer using a palm grip on the mouse and with the MX620 I was dragging the heel of my hand not with the MX Performance mouse. Also my hand was sliding down on the back of the mouse on the MX620. BB had a sale and I took advantage of getting the MX Performance mouse. The forward and backward buttons are just in the perfect spot for my needs and I use press my whole fingers instead of my fingertips for the left and right buttons. Also I get a useful thumb rest. Three big selling points over the Handshoe was the Hyper scrolling,the Application switcher which is fantastic on Windows 7 and a bit cheaper.
 
I would say go with a G500 or MX518. I recently bought a Sidewinder X8, and although it's a pretty nice mouse, I'm not crazy about the shape compared to my G500, it feels a little cheaper, and it's not really any bigger either. Also, the X8 software gives you very little control over the DPI setting, which I really don't like. Depending on the mouse, I usually use something between 1400 and 2000 DPI, but the Sidewinder only lets me select 1000, 1500, or 2000. 1500 is manageable, but I'd prefer something a little higher.
 
Can you palm a basketball?

I found the X8 uncomfortable and felt very cheap. I went back to the MX Revo, even though my hands are too big for it(fingers drag at the tips and my whole pinky is on the mousepad), the shape is VERY natural and ergonomic, I might try the MX518 next
 
After much debating, and roaming different stores touching display models I settled on a Logitech G500. If you hold the mouse between thumb and pinky you'll like it.

The MX Performance was a close second, however the battery life turned me off.

Previously I had a MS Natural Wireless Laser 6000. Battery lasted forever and the unusual shape is comfortable for a big hand. Did not like the scroll wheel though.
 
I'm in the same boat as you SuperFly4, but I've not been a fan of the Logitech 'shape' in the past. I had a 518 but found that my ring finger had no where to land comfortably. I worry that the G500 will just be more of the same.

I use a 'mild' claw grip, and I can just about palm a bball. I have gone back and forth between the MS 3.0 and the Deathadder. I love the shape of the ime 3.0, but the sensor in the death adder always makes me second guess using the 3.0 for gaming (but it is my current mouse). I do find that the deathadder is not wide enough and my hand doesn't feel good after using it for an hour or more, likely from having to squeeze it too hard.

I've used the sidewinder and liked it a lot, which makes me want to try the x8. I only stopped using the sidewinder because it jitters on cloth pads :(

I believe my next purchase will be the Valor from PureTrak. Fingers crossed! :)
 
Yes I just barely palm a basketball, but I can. Thanks for all the suggestions now I have to try to find a store that has some of these, I really want to hold before I buy. I'm thinking maybe bestbuy or pc richards? There are no fry's where I live, compusa is gone and like I said I'd really like to hold.
 
I love the G700, I can easily palm a basketball in both hands and find this mouse very comfortable.

Yes you should try the mouse at the store and find what will fit your hand best for comfort. What may fit one person may not fit another. I usually go for comfort and features second. Comfort becomes more important with age and the number of hours you spend on the computer. The "plam" grip on the mouse providing you find the one that fits tends to be more comfortable for longer periods of time rather than the "claw" grip. I was not planing to get another Logitech mouse until I tried one at the local BB store. I find it surprising that with the number of people using computers only the BB stores and the one Micro Center store in the entire state of Colorado have any sort of a product selection.
 
I've used my Logitech MX518 for 4 or 5 years now and have loved it everyday since. I've dropped it innumerable amounts of times and it's still going strong as well.

- A guy with big hands.
 
i have the logitech G500 and i have big hands and it works for me. and if 6'4 and 280 anit big i dont know what is lol
 
I'm 6'10 and can definitely palm a basketball since about 7th grade lol. Here are a few options that have worked for me.

Logitech G5, G500, or even the G9 with the custom grip:
I've used all of these (on the G500 now) and they all work very well. The base of my hand down by my wrist does rest on the mouse pad, but the buttons fall right in line with my fingertips this way.

Logitech MX1100:
I use this at work and love it. I don't know about gaming performance, but for daily use, I've had no issues at all.

Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0:
Great feel on a mouse. Lower profile than the Logitech options. I would probably still be using this today if I hadn't fallen in love with the free-spin scrollwheel option on the Logitech mice.
 
I just ordered a g500 on a dented box deal for only $35 from logitech:cool: Even if I hate it I can probably sell for no loss and get something else.
 
The G700 is great and I have big hands. The downsides are the crappy Setpoint software that doesn't always play well with Windows 7, and the sensitivity hiccups with the mouse that seem to be commonly reported. I would easily love this mouse if those two factors weren't there, and I've used two of the mice so either I have the worst luck or there's a legitimate problem. Hoping Logitech nails it with the G800.

An opinion given without any personal experience I see: The RAT is horrible for people with larger hands. Its adjustable; but to fit mini through medium size hands at best.

I have larger hands, just large enough to palm a basketball as well. Sharkoon Fireglider is my #1. If you want wireless, the G700 is fine for larger hands as well as the Sidewinder x8. I have them all. You can see in my profile what I consider to be good mice, and if it didnt feel right for me I wouldn't give it good marks.

another vote for this one. The mouse wheel can be switched between free scroll and click style on the fly. use one for both home and work.
 
Logitech MX1100. Perfect for big hands. Big and heavy, and best feature of all -- liquid smooth "free-rolling" scroll wheel. Don't leave home without it
 
I have large hands, although my fingers are relatively short. I've used Logitech mice for years, not thinking a thing about fit, because I liked the features. MX1000, then a MX Revolution spanned the last seven years.

I got to thinking about the size of the mouse after reading articles on the R.A.T. 9 and MS Sidewinder x8. My hands drug on my desktop (I don't use a pad) and little finger always drug along the desk. There is just no place to put the pinkie. Somehow I suddenly felt hand cramps. Haha, funny, I know.

I found a deal on a Sidewinder x8 and absolutely love it. My hand sits flush on the mouse and all fingers are supported. Several of the buttons are programmable, which has turned out to add to the comfort. The scroll wheel is the only bug-a-boo, but not a deal breaker by any means. Think is, it's ratcheted rather than having a free scroll option.

I sold by MX for $2 less than I bought the Sidewinder and haven't looked back.
 
Yeah. I have MX518 since I have such a big hand! It is so much comfortable than my older G500.
