or 15 bucks for the 4 pack. Sorry if this was posted before but it's sort of a stealth deal I didn't see it advertised. I came here after discovering the game today (I ended up buying the 4-pack as well as a couple more copies to pass out to friends). I love tower defense (in war3 as in burb, element, mini, etc, and also Defense Grid of course) but this might be the best tower defense game out there. It has AWESOME coop support (4 separate modes), tons and tons of modes with a huge array of maps and steamworks integrated friends list/join support and so forth... lots of great stuff, very polished game too.

I'm really blown away, for a cheap indie game this is a total gem. I knew there was a reason it had 90 user meta. :)

Huge tower defense fan!

I picked it up on your recommendation.

We can't do business in this forum. We have to move it to FS/FT.

Just saying you could PM me if you get a 4 pack... just sayin ; ) Yeah.... thats all ; )

Meh, I wasn't that impressed. It's just not that good. I love that you can play with friends, but it seems like it is way more difficult with friends.

I found 4 ppl to go in with me on this.
This has multiplayer support which is so fun. Even the single player is fun. I"m very happy with my $3.75 purchase! :)

I bit and this game is easy so far, the trick with all tower defence games is to SLOW them down with teh fire type weapon and compard them with lasers and mortars/heavy weaponery

This game didn't grab my attention like Defense Grid did in the first hour of play. Here's to hoping it gets bettter. I've got a ridiculous amount of time in Defense Grid, I just crossed 180 hours last night and I've not gotten a gold on all maps yet. In my opinion Defense Grid is one of the best games when you've just got an hour to play something. I'm at 98% achievement level.

This is much better than defense grid, which was quite good. Even if you discard all the multiplayer options the single player is still deeper and stronger.

so I snagged it & have been playing it for a few.. But I must be retarded as I cant figure out how to upgrade towers.

Lower middle, right side of middle, when you have tower selected. Its right below "sell"

Love this game, awesome to play with friends in a room together. Personally I enjoyed it much more than Defense Grid, probably due to the multiplayer. At $5 (the usual sale price), it's a great value for your entertainment dollar.

My friends and I all used to love playing the Warcraft 3 tower defense maps on LAN. I bought a 4 pack to see how it goes.
Thanks OP

Hell yes. My buddy and I were playing Castle Fight just the other night (I know it's not exactly a tower defense map, but defense nonetheless).

I played this on a friend's machine when it first came out. I remember enjoying when I did play. I may need to skip a lunch this week.

Picked this up because I love tower defense games. I have only logged about 45 minutes but it's a definite keeper and worth every penny.

THANKS OP

edit:: Been playing for hours now, great tower defense game. I just wish for a way to control gameplay speed.

Vs. defense grid, this feels like its missing the strategic positioning that DG has. In DG, not only do you position towers to work together, it is often important to shape the enemy's path.

I enjoyed Sol Survivor but it felt like I could just throw towers down almost randomly or with a small handful of guiding rules that would apply almost equally to all maps. Some of the weapons felt very redundant.

Still worth $5 for sure. Just not the mantle of best TD to me.

This is simply my favorite game on steam! I love it!!!

For those of you who are newbies, the speed boost, range boost, etc STACK.

I love tower defense games on flash, and for $5 I am going to have to try this. Thanks, it looks decent enough for the money

Good tip, but I haven't yet found a need for those boosting towers yet because of the tiny range it has.

just saying ... i would go in on a 4 pack lol

still have not played DG, I keep missing their sale on it :(

DG basically held your hand for you, offering very limited ways to do every map. By comparison, SS is totally open, especially the more you unlock and play. Try a mid-late game map on hard or intense. You will not survive.

got mine steam id is wesg79 if anyone wants to play, havent installed it yet will when i get home :)

seems we have 4? PMs?

ok done and sent

I have played for about an hour or two. So far it is fun, and challenging. I really like DG but got this to see if COOP mode would be fun.

Is there a way to speed up the bad guys like there is in DG? I am impatient.

Played both games through and not my experience.

Yes on small maps there are limited ways to do things but the flip side it makes you decisions more critical. Put the wrong turret in the wrong spot and you hurt yourself. In SS I can just pile up all shapes and sizes and rarely run out of space.

On big maps DG isn't any different in your flexibility other than you can control the enemy's path as part of your choices.

Defense Grid is a good game but it's quite limited due to being designed with 360 in mind. For people that prefer epic, dynamic TD with far more possible strategies available in any given situation, SS is the king. The only big thing I've noticed that is missing from SS is Interest on your bank account, something featured in most war3 maps and also Defense Grid. Perhaps in a future patch, they've already added so much. ;)
