ASUS Republic Of Gamers (ROG), the most innovative and award winning enthusiast and gaming motherboard brand, is excited to introduce the Rampage III Black Edition. Team ROG is resetting the bar by which motherboards are judged by incorporating new levels of design, quality, functionality and connectivity that enthusiasts and gamers demand in current products.

Saw it on Newegg yesterday, damn near jizzed in my pants. That is one sexy X58 board, but until my Classified spontaneously combusts, I won't be getting this. *knock on wood* :D

pretty sure I see red and burgundy on there, :p

but its still a sexy board.

Sexy, but it seems a bit late in the game for a premium X58 board like that.

I am not one to compliain, but what's up with all the x58 releases lately?

Wow, that is a crazy spec sheet..

Plus the specifications link shows nothing about the R3 Black. I think the ROG site needs tweaking lol

if was like $300 or $200 i might of have gotten it, but for $600 they must be smoking something good.

First PC board with Thunderbolt? Even though its an addon card?

I admit, when I saw that picture, I got a stiffy. Its a damn sweet looking
board. But, when was the last time I seen the inside of my case. So, while
it looks BA on paper and in images, I won't see it once its mounted anyway
which is a shame :(

From ASUS:

Regarding your question key changes.

1. I/O Connections ( Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11N Wifi ) Front USB3, New Marvell Storage Controller 9182 ( x4 interconnect )
2. Thunderbolt Card (Features Killer Nic E2100 NPU as well as customized Xonar Sound Card integrated) – The card is fully functionality independent of the board. Additionally we still maintain Intel Lan on the board its self
3. Bios has been optimized based on the feedback of the community as a whole as well as our new ROG development members ( allowing for easier overclocking via sweet spot options )
4. PCIE-E layout only
5. New options for ROG Connect ( multiplier and GPU Tweak It )
6. New Aesthetic and Heatsink

Those are the key differences between this and the Rampage III Extreme.

I wonder what types of BCLK this can hit. 250 would be nice but i suppose with such a high end board you would most def pair with an unlocked cpu,

Sweet looking board. Seems kind of late to be releasing new premium X58 boards though...

maybe intel and the top board makers are trying to get the last bit of money out of a dieing socket?

Beautiful board would go perfect with a 990x, 2x SLI 580 3GBs, Antec HCP 1200w, and 24GB of memory and a couple of Intel 510 250GBs in RAID 0 with a beautiful HP ZR30w 30" monitor. But that Marvel SATA III controller worries me wonder if will actually perform or not.

560$ and this late to the x58 game i dont get the point of the board

When [H] post stuff like this can we get a link to the actual product information?!? Is that really too much to ask.

First PC board with Thunderbolt? Even though its an addon card?

The "ThunderBolt" is the name of the audio card ASUS has included with this motherboard, it's *not* the new interconnect technology.

I'm having a hard time justifying the price for this motherboard when compared to the Gigabyte Assasin & Sniper boards. The only difference I see is the blutooth feature and gigabyte boards have the bigfoot lan and sound on the boards, not as an add-in card. Almost seems like an afterthought on the Asus board.
