Every time I post a video of the iPad / iPhone getting blown up, some Apple fan complains that I am being a dick (duh, that's a given) and I'm not being fair to the company. Well, THIS VIDEO is for you mister iPad-defender-guy! Kinda cool seeing how far this thing will bend! :D

Yeah because you're ALWAYS claiming how MS products are indestructible, right Steve?

Pray tell, what for hardware does Microsoft make, outside of Keyboards and Mice?

Zune's - Dead.
Game Controllers - Dead.
Networking Hardware - Dead.

Gee, I see you're point :)

I don't care if it blends or not (that shit's just silly), but I after seeing this I know one thing.

iPad screens are tough little sumbitches.

10 buck says it'll still shatter into a spider web when dropped from 18" or higher.

The iPhone 4 was supposed to be using Gorilla Glass but clearly it's a pretty fragile piece of shit that somehow manages to absorb scuffs and scratches without dropping it at all.

I have no idea how. I've had my COWON s9 for 2 years and the screen doesn't have a single blemish on it.

The bending is really cool - that being said, I was most excited when I heard Reel Big Fish as the background music, excellent.

.

+1

This is entertainment at best retarded testing at worst. The ipad is never going to survive bending like that, who cares if the glass survives.

The test is a static load test not an impulse / damage (i.e. high-g) test.

I was so hoping the see the glass splintering into his thumbs :D

Sadistic much?

Don't forget the Zune...

Toshiba and Flextronics.

DaWiki said:
The first-generation Zune device was created by Microsoft in close cooperation with Toshiba, which took the design of the Gigabeat S and redeveloped it under the name Toshiba 1089 as registered with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) starting in 2006.

The second-generation Zune 4, 8, and 80 devices, manufactured by Flextronics, introduced the touch-sensitive Zune Pad

They don't mention who manufactured the ZuneHD... only who designed/manufactured certain parts of it. When it comes down to it, the ZuneHD is still among the best pieces of hardware I've seen in a long time. I don't care for the software much, though.

Ok the screen bends that much... now put the whole iPad in that same machine and see how well it works after bending it one inch :D

how many did he had to waste, must cost alot just to have a few of these glass to break.

It's not glass, so there's not much point.

What breaks one will probably break the other...

He says heights of 1" and 2" but to me those look like 2x4s and not 1x2s. How about to the rest of you?

I was actually going to rip my eyes out by the end of the video because the music was so godawful and hipsterish.

I'm disappointed.

During the Hand bending test. The idiot was trying to break glass without gloves on. And we didn't have a bloody mess.

anybody else bugged that they say 1" and 2" but the 2x4 that they use is really 3/4"x3 1/2"?

Anyone else bugged that people are splitting hairs over this when, for a piece of glass, it managed to flex far more than any piece of glass should?

These bending tests are even less relevant than the informal scratch tests people do to show off their screens.

I'm still partial to drop tests because that actually happens.
