I'm running an Ubuntu machine headless and use NX Client to access it over my local network. For some reason the "d" key has gotten assigned to minimize window which makes it really difficult to do any terminal work ("sudo" cannot be spelled with a "D" etc.) or search for files and such. Tried going into the system -> preferences -> keyboard shortcuts menu and removed the keybindings for minimize window and everything but that did not help the problem. This should be a simple problem to fix but it is really irritating. Thanks.

What if you alt-f2'd and typed in "gconf-editor"

Then go into "metacity" and keybindinds and check in there and see if it got assigned.

updates and a restart later the problem seems to have fixed itself. what does "alt-f2" do anyway?
