I got my LianLi PC-A05B ! it's Small!

with BS-03 how many Celsius have u less on ur 5870?

Next time I clean my case, I'll disconnect the BS-03 and see what difference it makes. If you have videocards that exhaust out the back though, then it might not be useful.

I could have problem with ven-x...i will cut my side panel, thx anyway

The real thing should connect to the USB3.0 headers on the mobo .. and last time I checked Lian-Li does not have one for A05 in its portfolio ... yet (I hope)

I really wish they showed more of the A05FN. CeBIT came and went with hardly a mention of the new model.

Where do you see a blowhole on A05FN ? I see holes on A04's (the two cases from the right), but A05FN has no blowhole on picture - look at the reflection, the mark there at back is just a mark, the reflection doesn't break = it is a solid material.

What? You think that square is a sticker or something?

Actually none of the ones in that shot is the A05FN (except for a tiny bit on the far right where we can't see the full lid). It's mislabled.

This is a vent:

It looks like aluminium plate, used in other Lian Li cases. It is optional, you can replace it with mesh, like here:

Is it conceivable that they wanted to show that the top lid will be solid by default, but there will be an option with a blowhole?

Edit: aerial-, thanks. It look like the A0FN has the thing you show in the bottom picture (for some other case) installed.

No, this one will use your external USB3 connectors at back of the case. Lian Li has no USB3 front panel replacements with internal connectors yet.

For those who have spray panted the interior, is there a specific type of spray paint to use to avoid chipping?

I used automotive flat black. I also scuffed the aluminum with a scotch bright pad and thoroughly cleaned the surface with alcohol prior to painting. I went through an entire can on my case, about 4 layers worth of paint.

what does scuffing do? is it necessary?

Man, I'm an idiot. I should have done this a year ago. I was in the store buying a new Razer Blackwidow Ultimate and I saw the XP-120/Venomous X/True Black, etc. 120mm fan bracket for $4.99.

I put on another 120mm fan pulling on the heatsink and my idle temps went down 15º !, my load temps are down 10°.I also flipped the top fan to a blow hole for exhausting hot air out the top.

The overclocked CPU is idling at 27° C now!

The rear fan is a 30mm thick Panaflo so it needs to be clipped on (a better solution anyway). The thicker fan has more static pressure to push air through the fins. The front fan just helps to pull.

Holy shit that's a pretty massive improvement. I wish I saw that sort of huge jump when I bought the fan brackets for my Ven-X, but then again I already had a push-pull setup. Looks like switching the top fan to exhaust actually is an improvement and dispels my preconceived notion that a GPU cooler like your Twin Turbo and my T-Rad2 don't disagree with that setup since I always assumed they would be fighting for air!

I need to get a BS-06, it looks like a no brainer for this case since I noticed there is a pocket of warm/hot air that sits between the CPU cooler and the back side of the GPU...got to get that moving.

Well i just got my self a 2nd! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190509414858&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT £34 delivered aint a bad result is it!

Aready has a laser cutout for the window and USB has been moved to the front bottom.

So what mods should i make! Im kinda not sure what i want to do with it!

Though about copying the vents on the side of the front panel for the PSU area just above the new USB location, adding a foam strip like i seen a few others do!

It's to house an AMD X2 555 BE thats now an X4 @ 4.1GHZ under water and im toying with crossfire.

My watercooling is currently an external unit

Tempted with a really minimal setup trying to make it look as clean and bleak as possible. Matt black powdercoating perhaps with a smoked window

Can you post the pics of the USB ports moved? The auction page does not seem to have those.

The way I look at it,the BS-06 is actually the intake for the videocard. I have that crazy fan controller too so I just change modes when I am not gaming and deactivate the blowhole fan completely and I still feel warm air rising through the blow hole quite clearly. Convection is a powerful thing.

Switching to a blow hole also solved my problems with the front panel being too hot as before, my only active exhausts were on the front.

Soon as it's delivered i'll get some photos up. He says it's where the lian li badge was on the front, you can just about see it in the photos the cutout

Just thought I would contribute to this thread! There are a lot of impressive setups here, and I appreciate all the inspiration. I also have the Lian Li BS-03, but I have not decided whether or not to use it. Here are some pictures of my current setup, and wiring. I didn't have the time to set up the lighting properly so sorry about the quality of the pictures.

It's just how the Sabertooth is designed. Not sure what the real point of it may be other than looks, but it does give a nice, unified look to it. That setup would look amazing if the rest of the case was done up in black!

Thanks, I love the red and black as well. I do believe that the covering on the motherboard is purely aesthetic unfortunately, and doesn't serve a functional purpose. I do plan on painting the interior black at some point. I just received the case yesterday, and had to be ready for the Midwest Lan tomorrow so I was a bit rushed.
