Just Want to thank ASUS and their employees who post on this system for an amazing job of replacing the P8P67 defective INTEL chipsets.

The process has been largely pain free and beyond my expectations with respect to replacement speed.

I'm sure some will have complaints but in my opinion, you guys exceeded and exemplified what customer service is all about.

WF

To show the difference, Amazon sent me an e-mail yesterday saying I should contact INTEL for replacement information. This is coming from the people who I thought had the best costumer service on the web.

If you do NOT wish to thank ASUS at this time (or ever) please express your comments elsewhere. There are plenty of threads in which you can vent. This thread is not the place.

Thank you for your understanding.

I have to give ASUS a thumbs down on handling this for me. Disappointing for me. Not for the free shipping and their plan but the speed seems VERY slow.

Good promise and thanks for the free shipping etc.

I sent in my RMA on 3/2/11 and i still haven't got an RMA number. Yesterday the agent on the phone said they would send an email to figure out what is going on but it doesn't seem like it did anything.

To me probly a bad assumption but it seems like people doing advanced RMA's are getting faster service when processing RMA numbers.

EDIT:

I got off the phone again and the guy was useless. He said I just have to wait. Sigh.

thumbs up Asus!

new board is flawless, RMA proceedure was pain free!

You should of went with msi, biostar, gigabyte or anyone else since you want a fast replacement...Oh wait nvm. NONE of them have even sent out replacements directly from themselves. Asus is the first out to help out there customers which means a lot. Deal with it. It's been 7 days since they started the replacement program and youre already hissing and fitting?

I wasn't gonna post anything. Just keep my flipping mouth shut, but this post really chapped my butt.

I called Asus in February regarding this issue and others I was having. Got a case number and everything. They told me I was all set. Come to find out in March, that I needed to register to get my board replaced. IT TOOK 3 DAYS to get a new case number. 3 DAYS of "Error in /Notice". 3 days. FINALLY, I get a case. That was 4 business days ago and I don't have an RMA yet.

You see, my board doesn't just have the SATA chipset issue. It is defective. ASUS techs have confirmed it. ASUS isn't doing anything to expedite this problem for me. I was told that NO replacements would be made, except through the Sandy Bridge recall. It seems that ASUS would have to pay for the replacement in my case. If I wait and go through the recall, Intel pays.

I have $1300 worth of hardware that is completely frakkin' useless right now. The system corrupts data on the hard disk and won't reliably install windows, crashes at every opportunity and it doesn't go to sleep, it goes catatonic if left for more that 15 minutes. Every single one of these issues has been documented by many people on many forums. The ASUS tech even asked which BIOS the board came with. When being told, did not sound optimistic. He pretty much told me I'm stuck. He can't help me. I have to go through the recall, so Intel pays for the board and the freight.

I've flashed beta bios's. I've reduced the timing on the RAM, I've tried using less memory and different combinations of 8 different DIMMS. I've turned off every single feature of the system. I've replaced the CPU, the RAM (it's Corsair XMP RAM on the HCL for the board), the video card, the HSF, the hard disk, the optical drive and the power supply. Please note that the video card, power supply, the hard disk and the optical are working fine in my old X58 based system.

I've spent hours trying various options and hours waiting for ASUS to take my call. I've spent a week trying to get an RMA. I see people with no issues at all get replacement boards in 3 days. It took me that long to get the web site to work.

Don't even get me started on the RMA process itself. I REALLY have to FAX or email an unencrypted, insecure document to ASUS with my name, address, credit card number, CVV and expiration date? I guess some are more trusting than others. I still want to know why the defective board needs to go back at all? It can't be cost effective to fix it.

I've been putting PC's together for 23 years. I've seen my fair share of dud hardware. I've made every effort to rule out ANY other parts. Yet here I sit nearly 2 months after I bought this thing and it still isn't working.

So, you see, I've no thanks for ASUS. It's now a race to see if I get an RMA before I can purchase a different board. Be assured that ASUS won't be an option. I'm sure the fan boys will be out in force to point out the fallacies in my post. I particularly liked the post I saw earlier with one user commenting that I should be happy that ASUS is replacing the board.

I should be lucky I have a working board right now. I feel your pain.

To add insult to injury MSI is giving UPS 3 day shipping labels instead of ground it seems like ASUS is giving out.

If they are this slow on the RMA numbers I don't' even want to know how long it will take to process an RMA. A month?

I'm tempted to just cancel my RMA and use the board for what it is.

You seem to have problems unrelated to the sandybridge recall. I feel for you but speaking for myself, Asus has done a remarkable job of handling INTEL'S defective chipset. It maybe ASUS has a priority to swap these boards out first because of the sheer magnitude of the problem.

N.B Check here..

use your serial number and nothing else.

Yes, had a couple glitches myself, but overall I think they did just fine. Trying to do a recall as fast as they did I am not surprised there are a few hiccups. Of course, I didn't go into it thinking I could just push a button and everything would magically fall into place.

Filled out form on Friday and they overnighted a board (and crappy but free headphones) on monday. Couldnt be happier with them at the moment.

Built my new rig right after it was released and it was awesome. Yes, there were some minor issues but nothing I wasn't able to overcome. In fact, I actually enjoy the challenge. Issues are to be expected with new platforms but this went a lot smoother than I expected. Having built my first rig over 20 years ago I can appreciate how relatively painless this setup was. THANK YOU ASUS for a great product.

Then we find out there's a flaw with the chipset. THANK YOU INTEL for stepping up and admitting your mistake (although I'm sure their accountants told them it was the best course of action). However, I didn't get excited because I was still playing on my smokin' fast rig and felt no sense of urgency.

Initial reports had replacements coming in April. THANK YOU ASUS for kicking out replacements so soon.

Yes, my first attempt at applying for the RMA failed but I didn't panic. Why? Because I'm still playing on my smokin' fast rig!

I tried again the next day, no problem. Sent my info in and forgot about it. I did not bother to check the status of my RMA every 10 minutes. Why? Because I'm still playing on my smokin' fast rig!

Today my replacement board showed up, which is great, but I probably won’t get to replacing it until the weekend. Why? Because I'm still playing on a smokin' fast rig!

So, THANK YOU ASUS for the replacement. It certainly came a lot sooner than I expected. Great job!

Hey ASUS. We're good! You overnight-ed me my board in record time. Even though everything wasn't perfect in the process, I still have my replacement more here ready to install. Thanks.

I hate you guys! just kidding, but us folks with the Intel boards ( a DP67BG) haven't heard A THING from Intel as to when replacement boards will be available for us. Why God oh Why did I not go with ASUS when I bought my P67 board!

i'm jealous. why all of you guys get over night or 2nd day shipping, while i get the slowest saver shipping? it's just a little more than an hour drive from their warehouse to my house. but it's gona take fedex 3 days to deliver my board on friday. i could literally get there to their warehouse and back home by walking in 3 days:rolleyes:

Haha at least Asus US are shipping replacement boards, in the UK they are still saying no replacements until april!

I think Asus did a great job also.
And I would like to thank Gary, JJ and any other rep that comes here to help us out. I dont think thats what they get paid for.

Gotta consider Asus did not create the problem, Intel did. And i,m sure this is nothing but a pain in the ass for Asus as much as its a pain in the ass for us.

As far as what I have been reading, ya know, everyone has an 'abuse limit".
Its just my opinion but I dont think ANY complaints should be directed to the Reps here at this site. If there is a complaint about a product or service they should be directed towards the company. Reps are here to help update and over clock issues.
And I for one am great full they are. I have seen programs, bios and driver updates here way before posted anywhere else (including asus official page)

Anyway I aint gonna continue, I just wanted to thank the Reps and hopefully I will see more of them in the future here.

I also got the Fedex saver shipping and im in Southern CA, said my delivery date was 3 buisiness days but I got it in 2. If your next to their Corporate Freemont location where they are shipping, it should only take 1-2 days max with that option.

I don't have a sandy bridge, but my x58 re3 gave out and Asus replaced it hastle free in about a week. Good company

I put my paperwork in last week (3/2) for a replacement for my board (maximus IV extreme) and they just charged my card. As it being their top end board I would have figured they would of had this resolved a little quicker.

I think we need a new thread titled "I can't wait to replace a perfectly good board".

I am amazed at the level of patience on display throughout this entire forum of people so anxious to replace a motherboard that is probably working just fine.

I'll say thanks.
I had to do all the work myself to get the B3 (Buy new and return existing to dealer and wait for refund) but that was my choice rather than wait for some indeterminate time. I wanted to get the system built now to avoid disturbance later.
It seems to me that ASUS and others in the supply chain have worked remarkably quickly to achive this.
Finally, what a great board at such a reasonable price (IMO of course)

Can't seem to let my ASUS P8P67 EVO Rev. 1 go it works perfectly for me. It's under water and snug as a bug pumping 5Ghz+. All SATA III devices no SATA II devices to worry me. This rig is wicked sick fast. On the 1204 UEFI. Gonna try the new 1305 UEFI soon.

Seems like there are multiple people who are on the Asus payroll or similar in this thread.

i really hope so. but according to the tracking info, they have been holding my mobo at oakland since last night. which is only about 70 miles from me. but no sign of moving on. last time i had a package from fedex, they held it at a station about 100 miles from my house for 3 days before moving on, so that they could make the delivery on the scheduled date. and they did make it on that day.:(

I'm even closer to point of origin, but hope is out there. Mine arrived today, one day early. No rush for me though as I won't have time to swap it out before the weekend anyway.

Oh, and thank you ASUS.

what kind of stupid thread is this?

Its a thread to thank ASUS for dealing with INTEL's defective chipset in record speed.

I don't work for ASUS or any other computer company. I've been building and ripping apart systems for about 30 years and can still remember when overclocking an IBM AT consisted of switching out a crystal. (was a 286 chip running at 6 mhz.. over clocked to 8 mhz!)

I also remember when the internet had no www and comments like yours were not considered acceptable.

Troll elsewhere please.

ASUS did great. The best IMO. They beat newegg, amazon, gigabyte and others in this painless rma process.

yer asus did alright !!!!

i mean the faster you get those boards changed the sooner you can invoice intel for the replacments, shipping and labour time taken to process all this, plus markup maybe ?

sounds like asus are just in a rush to line there own pockets
