Just an FYI, I bought mine on Saturday at 299.99 so I'm headed back to get the difference.

Yes, thats where I bought mine due to a more friendly return policy :)

Would they match it if there is not a micocenter in my state? I live in Oregon.

Lol. If they will then I'll drive and pick one up.

Its worth a try, Fry's has been handing out flyers to me all day that they match online and in store prices.

As luck would have it I'll passing by the closest MC which is 2 hours away today. I think a detour is in order...

I'm heading down to microcenter this weekend to pick up the amd combo. Might pick this up too

I called and a rep on the phone said that they probably won't because it has to be a local competitor. So there goes that idea.

They do here in Sunnyvale. But then it's kind of pointless since MC is not that far away anyway(either one <30 min drive)

Fry's has a much much more friendly return policy, Microcenter won't take back a CPU unless its completely DOA.. Fry's will take back about anything.. just an FYI.

Wished I had either one around here *sniff*, so I could quibble over the same thing lol.

Add basically $30 tax if you are in CA and it's only really a $20 discount from the amazon $330 price. I'd rather just go amazon and save the gas/time.

Would frys price match this?

Mine wouldnt a few months ago on my i7 950 since they told me they dont compete to lose money. Sucks for them as I left everything I was planning on picking up and went to microcenter and bought it all there.

oh snaps when was this? It's amost an hour drive from SF, hope it's worth it.

I think it's been an ongoing policy that started a while back? I'm sure fellow [H]ers can give you the exact date if you want to know.

But halcyon brought up a good point. I never bothered to check MC's CPU return policy so.

BTW was checking MB availability on frys.com using p67 as search term, and that came up with nothing. You might want to wait until early April to drive down to buy both, since that's supposedly when the B3 rev. boards would be widely available.

Wonder how long it's going to take Newegg to get back to that price. There are no good computer stores near me in NC.

i5-2400 is back to $149.99 whoo!
i7-2600 is back to $249.99
And the 2500K is $179.99

Picked one up yesterday, just waiting on a bigger selection of motherboards to arrive at the NJ store.

I was told that they were expecting a huge motherboard shipment in NJ today, and they were "hoping" to get the 1155 sockets and that they would update their website "soon".

I was also told that i can return with my processor+receipt to take advantage of any motherboard combos within the next 30 days, i hope that's true...

Not to sound like a negative nancy, but I don't think it ever will. Microcenter is basically a loss leader when it comes to CPU sales, since they hope or push you to buy everything else associated with the CPU. The 2600k tray pricing is $317 or so? I believe. I'd waited ages for the E8xxx prices to drop @ the egg, but they never dropped much, so I just skipped that generation keeping my 65nm C2D.

Frys in Sunnyvale had an assortment of MSI P67 boards in stock. Microcenter had Asus pro and h67 boards on Saturday but was OOS by the afternoon.

No problem.

I called the NJ Microcenter today btw, and it turns out they supposedly did not receive any 1155 motherboards in their "big shipment" tuesday morning. Don't know if that's the whole truth but i was a little surprised.

Seems like we're in for a longer wait, CPU in hand but no mid-priced P67 motherboards :(

I just came back from the NJ Microcenter and asked in person for a p67 motherboard and they said they dont have any p67 :( oh well

I did end up buying a 2500K. My friend bought a 2600K. Waiting for that last piece now...

My friend also mentioned that Newegg had a free gift with the MSI P67A-GD65 where you would get a free AA/AAA battery recharger (worth around $50) but that sold out quick.

If your close, Central Computers have a couple of P8P67 (all flavors except sabertooth) in Santa Clara.

Just had the same thing happen to me this week. They wouldn't match the price so I left everything and bought my entire rig over at MC. MC is awesome.
