Is the 2 GB version of the 460 really that much faster than 1 GB version that warrants such a huge price premium?

Nope, unless you're running at extremely high resolutions, at which point you want vastly more powerful video cards anyways (GTX 560/HD6950 in SLI and above).

Thanks, so basically the 460/2GB is not worth it since it costs way too much for way too little performance increase over a standard 460/1GB.
 
Props to TD for honoring the single orders on the A50. That's fair IMO.

Woot, my order of two got shipped. It's probably people who ordered more than two, not one as the TD representative said. Many people who are getting their orders ordered one or two.

we'll see for me. i dunno. got a call but when i called back yesterday didn't realize they were already closed. will try again tomorrow or wednesday.
 
truly pathetic. i finally get in touch with tiger direct, and i was told it was just a call to tell me they were canceling the order. really? PATHETIC. thats like rubbing salt in a wound. as if i didn't already get the cancellation email. even more pathetic that other orders shipped.
