Dell U3011 - What matches up along the side?

Heya all,

My 3007WFP is almost dead, so it needs a replacement. I have 2007FP on the sides (like this guy from these forums: http://prophoto.fi/anatahan/8.jpg), and the obvious choice for me is the Dell U3011 - but I'd like to update the 2007's to the U3011's design.

Question is now what aligns at the sides of it. I've not been able to find the something that matches - but hopefully some of you inhere knows one!

Unfortunatly the design of the 2007fp is quite different from the U3011.

Anyone who has the U3011 that would give me the exact height of the actual display (without the stand)?

No idea how it matches up with a U3011 but it does indeed match perfectly with a 3007 @_@

I just sold someone my 2 2007s and he bought a u3011 so im sure he can post the results on friday.

Would you be kind and send him a link to this thread so he could do some measuring? :)

The screen itself is 1/8th of an inch shy of 18" tall (and 27 and 3/8th inches wide if anyone cares).

It can be raised quite tall, but with stand the absolute minimum total height is a 1/16th shy of 19".

I had considered slapping a couple portrait monitors on the sides of my U3011 as well.

I was also thinking of putting a 2007WFP next to me U3011, but if the design is quite different then I'm not so sure if it's worth it. From what I've seen the 2007WFP vertically is pretty much the perfect height of the 30" monitors in landscape.

Is there a "2011WFP" design at all? I think the closest thing you can get is this thing
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-9271

It is however a 16:9 monitor and its 21.5 inch which would make it slightly taller than the height of the U3011 horizontally.

Thank you for that info.

I have my ol' reliable 2001FP that will become my "other" monitor when I purchase the new one. Question is, do I get that u2410 I've been lusting after so long, or should my ol' reliable ride shotgun in portrait-mode next to the u3011 that I'm beginning to consider?

The hp zr30w is very close. It's a premium display solution from hp. Has 16:10 if I'm right.

You want 2007FP, not 2007WFP. You do not want widescreen.

Any of you guys have experience with the 2007fp PVA panels?? I have a chance to get one for around 100 bucks with my new u3011. Any info?

One of my 2007FP is PVA and the other one is IPS.
IMO, both offer very similar performance.
The IPS on has a slightly better gray scale after calibration but it suffers from minor bleeding.
I do not feel any input lag with both.

I've got a 2007fp chilling ontop of my sub, maybe i should put it next to my 3 x 3007wfp's. But alas no room. But it is nearly the same length that my 30"rs are high.

Resolution-wise the 2007FP matches the 3007WFP-HC and the U3011 in height when in portrait orientation.

Now, the 3007WFP-HC and U3011 use slightly different LG panels, the U3011 is 10-bit compatible and the 3007's is not. However, in terms of pixel pitch and physical size they are exactly the same.

If you look height-wise, however, the 2007FP panels appear to be slightly taller than the panels in the 30 inchers.I have confirmed this as the dot pitch for the 30 inchers is 0.2505 mm whereas the dot pitch for the 2007FP is 0.258 mm - the pixels are spaced farther apart, therefore the physical size of the panel in relation to the number of pixels it has is larger.

This above issue is always what has put me off using different sized panels in a multiple monitor configuration. Even if the resolution matches, the physical size does not.

Yes, you definitely need more screens. But be careful that you don't box yourself in and get trapped. Common mistake.

Trying to see if I can use this setup 20x30x20 with a crossfire 6970 setup. Any confirmation??
