Serious Sam 3: Summer 2011

Swear I don't mean this as a threadcrap, but how good/bad is Croteam when it comes to announcements, and then delays?

I loved the SS games. Heck, I just finally played Serious Sam 2 for the first time back in Nov, and it was almost the only game I played that month. IIRC, I did at least four complete runs of the game, and then would attempt speedruns of my favorite levels, trying to see just how quickly you really can finish the game.

So, I'm excited for SS3. Should I anticipate a delay, or except summer means summer to Croteam?
 
Every dev has delays, but I don't recall Croteam pushing anything out significantly. I can't wait for SS3, I plan to not do much but destroy vast hordes the day it comes out. :)

I still have that video of you playing SSHDFE or SE in its Eyefinity/surround goodness sitting on my HD somewhere! :D

Funny thing is that while SS2 was all I did in Nov, I was still strong enough to not let it make me play SSFE/SE over again, though. I need to force myself to play newer games, not enjoy all over again my old stuff. (See my backloggery thread for the embarrassing facts on this...)

Considering my backlog, who am I kidding about worrying about dev delays? I'll probably buy SS3 on release day whenever it is this year, and still not open it 'til 2014...

yeah baby, mindless horde killing FTW!!! serious sam is by far one of the best stress relieving games out there, ya get pissed off with annoying noobs in other games you can just go straight to serious sam and release all your anger. ya get pissed off at co-workers, you can go home and own the shit out of hordes of monster's. doesn't get much better then that.
 
Wished they would put Serious Sam 2 on Steam for users who haven't got it yet:(
 
Yet another game to add to my "want" list of 2011.

What an epic year in terms of noteworthy gaming titles!
 
I've played SS2 and liked it. I think mostly because it looked so much better than the original. I've wanted an SS3 to be made but honestly I was hoping for it to be toned down. After a while I get so bored of killing a bunch of the same monsters over and over. I like the character and the weapons, but I'd like to see more of a story instead of, "Here, go kill some shit." But then again I guess that'd make it like a lot of the other stuff out there.
 
SS was never meant to have a story. it was always about mindless horde killing. its not a game you sit there and spend 10 hours a day playing. its one of those games you come home from work stressed and you want to kill something so what better is there then to jump on SS and just massacre the hell out of everything for an hour or two. because if i was stressed out after work i sure as heck wouldn't go play BC2 or COD and deal with all the annoying kids and teenagers.
 
lol, SS2 was my first FPS. I would play for a few minutes until I raged and quit. Then I would start back a few minutes later. Some sections took literally weeks to get through. loved that game. :)

You're right, then it wouldn't be Serious Sam. The SS games are intended to be somewhat retaded click fests. Bright lights and big booms. You want a story, read a book. :D

God Damn it, I hate those guys!!!

Just when you have about one point of life left after killing 10,000 monsters, one of those guys come out of nowhere and blows the shit out of you! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
 
It's the constant backing up that gets to you after a while. You spend more time backing up and shooting then you do going forward, LOL.

A very accurate description of gameplay in Serious Sam games, at least the way I play them :D

Indeed each horde of monster usually push me backwards

gotta learn the maps and if you are playing online learn to use your teammates as Guinea pigs so the monsters all go for them while you kill all the monsters from a distance :p

theres lots of different game styles though.. usually i don't run back.. i run at them as i'm shooting. especially if you know where the waves of monsters spawn at you can find kick ass hiding spots where it takes the AI a bit to figure out where you are.

GamersGate has it; I picked it up on sale for $5 some time ago. Steam would be nice, but at least this is something.
 
that screen shot doesn't really look like a game to me.....strange...

but yes i can't wait for this game either!

there was a magazine article a few years back that showed serious engine 3 along with some of the sam enemies in a modern setting with military vehicles. I think croteam was supposed to be working on a military style shooter along with ssam3. anyway I like the fusion.

I fucking love the SS games and I'm extremely excited to know that there is a new one coming out. :) :) :)
 
This is going to be great. I still can't get over how good it looks.
