Rockstar has posted the first in a series of in-depth gameplay videos for upcoming game L.A. Noire. The first video called “Orientation” is embedded below, we'll post more when they are available.

Yeah, I was just going to say. They really took it to the next level with the faces. Well done.

Im guessing a PC version would come out a bit later?

Not if no Red Dead Redemption is anything to go by. It's too bad. RDR would be amazing on the PC and so would this. I'm someone who thinks GTAIV is incredible on the PC.

I guess Rockstar has just flat out written the PC off. A real shame.

These are the kinds of titles I own a PS3 for. I already have my preorder placed. Easily a GOTY contender I have to be looking at here.

No PC Version? FAIL! Tired of seeing games like this not exploited on the PC with it's latest technology! Great facial animations! I can't imagine what this would look like on a PC monitor running at a true 1920x1200 resolution. Come on Rockstar!

I agree but I'll be damned if I'm going to be denied playing it.

Back when GTA IV first came out on the consoles, I bought it on the PS3, played the hell out of it, sold it as soon as the PC version got confirmed in stone, bought that and still play it.

If Rockstar wants to make easy money, there's plenty of suckers like me that'll be more than happy to do repeat buys but until then I'll get it where I can.

I really don't know how or why Rockstar suddenly jumped on the apparent PC hate bandwagon but it's a bitter shame and disappointment.

^^ Sorry for this extra but no edit: RDR is the same thing. I'll preorder it immediately and sell my played into the ground PS3 version if they ever set a PC version in stone.

I wasn't especially excited about the game before, but now I have to say that I'm definitely interested.

I'm just hoping that the crime solving aspects of the game make it a little harder. I never much liked the GTA style of "questing" where I'd just go to whatever was glowing on the ground to pick up a quest and then go to whatever else was glowing (and showing up on my map) to finish the quest.

I still can't believe there is still no RDR for PC yet. I don't get not releasing simultaneously, its not that costly to port from Xbox to PC.

This is going to be an amazing 6-8 hour game.

I'll buy it eventually. But for now, I'm impressed with that nice Flash video player.

Great facial animations .. I'll have to pick this one up after it's been out awhile and gets in the $15-$20 price range

Looks amazing.

From that vid, looks like they've used PC footage - Yes, yes I know; No confirmed PC release, but still looks a little too good for a console IMO.

Same here. Although I'm not going to buy a console just to play RDR and LA Noire. If I already had one I might not begrudge buying the games on that platform, but as it stands no PC version, no sale. Plus I thought the keyboard/mouse control was much better for combat in GTAIV (I used a 360 pad for driving) and I wouldn't want to have to play without them.

according to lazlow, there isn't going to be a PC port of RDR unfortunately. :( I would be really surprised to see LA Noire make it to PC at this point either.

His number one reason, IIRC, was piracy. I'm sure things like the Hot Coffee mod (and all the 'fans' that jumped in on that class action lawsuit) and GTA4's lackluster performance played a roll in rockstar abandoing the platform too. It's a shame, but I guess I can't blame them too much.

As long as they keep making games for the 360/PS3, then I'm a happy camper. I would love to see 'em on the PC as well, but shit happens.

Indeed. The facial animations are awesome. Which is refreshing considering the usual lip flapping that is usually in no way in sync or representative of what a character is saying in other games. And the emotion is another ball altogether.

Looks pretty cool, but Rockstar wont be seeing any $$$ from me unless they release this on the PC.

Wait NO PC VERSION!!! There HAS to be a PC version of this game I totaly want it.

Ya well, Rockstar has hated the PC for a number of years now. This should be no surprise. They may bring a PC version later, their last few titles have been console first, PC later because of "piracy". Of course given that all consoles suffer from piracy too this sounds to me more like "bullshit" :).

At any rate if it makes you mad, as it does for me, the answer is just to not buy it. There are plenty of good games out and more coming, if they want to be jerks about support just give their stuff a miss.

Dear Rockstar, please offer on Steam exclusively. Thank You.

and bring us Red Dead Redemption!!!

Why Steam exclusively? No, just bring it to the PC and people can buy it any way they want. The more ways, the merrier. :)

Any plans to release a game without shimmering textures and vibrating edges in this millennium?

Videos looke nice in a small box thats 4" large. I wonder what happens if you bloat it out to 10x its size diagonally to a 40" screen. How pixelated and awful would that image be? Basically, this game is probably being rendered at 640x480 or so for a PS3/xbox 360(lawl) and being demonstrated in a 5" flash player box that is a resolution of 640x480 so of course it looks clear and soooooo nice. Make it fullscreen mode and its semi-blurry textures and quite pixelated sides of buildings with a lot of jaggies.

This game's graphics are at best 'meh'.

I pretty much expect no PC love these days. If they'd just let me use a keyboard and mouse on my 360s I'd be less irritated.

This is going in the right direction for games. I may even try it out when it launches and I'm not a big fan of RockStar...

I agree, and I would actually buy one if they would just simply add that feature in next gen.

The facial animations are crazy! Unfortunately, Rockstar can't seem to make anything other than a GTA clone with a new setting. Oh they added in clue finding though!!!!!!
