Is that 3x GTX460s and one GTX465? Tri-SLI + Physx on the (semi)cheap

According to his signature, there is a 470 and 2 460's. Plus the clearly visible 465 makes it: 1x470, 1x465, 2x460. I'm guessing.

I personally love mine. I have 5 Noctua P15's and it runs them with no problems at all.

I am debating replacing it with the newer version which attaches to a PCI slot on the back of your case and has an external LCD touchscreen you can place within 6 feet of your computer

Interesting.

Is there any way to get this to trigger off of CPU temps as well, or is it case temps only?

My modest system:

Current setup... by mattlach, on Flickr

In 2011 I will:
- Replace the small form factor case, with something bigger under the desk
- Go SLI
- Possibly get side monitors

Just added one of the side monitors mentioned above, a 2007FP.

Two Monitors? Ridiculous... by mattlach, on Flickr

Crappy pic. I was playing with automerge and HDR for the first time to expose the screen and the desk right at the same time, but the results are a little weird.

I like this setup. Now I need another 2007FP (must save money)

Added some more shelving and replaced Folding table with my new Build and Repair Cart.

Did you looked at the Dell P2011 before deciding to go with your current side monitor? It seems it would be more suitable for U3011, don't you think?

The P2011 is a 1600x900 16:9 monitor from what I can tell.

The reason I picked the 2007FP was because it - as a 1600x1200 4:3 monitor was the only monitor I could find that matches both the physical height and the pixel height (1600) of a 30" 2560x1600 screen.

1 2693HM and 3 ZR24w's. The double stand if from monoprice and it is great for <$40 to the door. Rack is empty atm, moved two machines somewhere else.

Correct. The desk does stick out of the closet, but its really useless space, so it works perfect. The closet runs the lenth of the whole wall, so I still have a small section to use as a closet, again working out great.

Crappy picture (only have my phone, which isn't bad normally, but my room also has awful lighting), and it's VERY messy as I have about 6 projects going on right now, but whatever :D

New 2011 setup in my closet. :D

I don't get this fad with everyone putting a TV above their PC monitors. Where are you sitting to use that screen? It seems too high to use as an actual TV and using it while sitting has to be annoying.

Ever tried it? I rather enjoy mine. Once you get 4 screens there is simply no going back. :D
I use it primarily for media. Then on my left screen I will have FB/Gmail/News. Middle screen is either primary browsing or if I'm working Photoshop / Illustrator. Right screen is file browsing/reference photo or secondary Photoshop / Illustrator.

Fuck minimizing. My multitasking is epic :D

OR if I'm gaming... 3x1 eyefinity...and a movie!

My setup here at work. Love it. But I must say, I'd rather have one (1) large monitor than two (2) medium monitors. I do CAD/CAM design work all day long (except when I'm on here obviously) and my little workstation just plugs away at it like a champ. :D

That's very cool! At my school we have Dell Precision workstations with Quadro graphics for CAD. It takes a lot of practice!

Awesome! Well, stick with it and learn all the types of CAD you can: Solidworks, Catia, AutoCAD, Inventor are all good ones to know. We're getting ready to adopt 3Dvia at work so I get to learn something new now too. Engineering; if you're not constantly learning, you're doing it wrong :D

^^ Altec Lansing speakers from 1997 going strong? :D

hahahaha yeah they work just fine :D

edit: The sub is actually an advent that is horrible. I can't remember the exact model # but just stay away from these subs.

That's a very nice desk! Now I'm intrigued to build my own ...
Yeah, same here. I've thought about building a concrete desk actually.
Thanks a lot folks. ^^ I'm glad my dad helped me build it. It came together quite nicely, and is made to use as much space of the room as possible. Works quite well. Could fit two 27" screens. Took about 2 weeks to build it and a day to set it up. Not everything had been thought through that well. If I could redo it, I'd make some slight changes. :)

Custom built desk with cable storage/management underneath. Custom computer shelf. Custom speaker stands/lamps. All of it took about 1'ish week to build/plan/etc.
