Haha, it's actually $325 ;). My roomate's half to me for rent. I actually like the 655s, they are fairly decent for mom and pop, I never had any issues with mine at all. For the past 6 months or so since I got the RB450G it's just been doing AP duty. It's next home is off to my parent's place this weekend.

Oh no, it is the 4th case out of the rear shot with the DVI connector, But frick man the speeds kick ass. Love the setup though houkouonchi. Everything has its place!

That is actually my main/desktop system. I have 30 foot cables that go through the floor and through the closet of my server room to the master bedroom where it goes to a keyboard, monitor, speakers, etc...

This allows me to use a high storage/powered machine (with a good graphics card) which uses a lot of power, is loud, and generates a lot of heat without having to be exposed to the sound/heat as I am in a different room.

EDIT: Here are some pics of how that comp is hooked up to my desk monitor/keyboard/mouse/etc...

He got me one of each as i wasn't sure what ones i would need, but im going to play with fiber network cards, make a small nas unit and have it directly connected to my server see what it's like and stuff, just for fun.

Make sure you get that tz-210 upgraded to the latest 5.6 sonicos. The one we have ran like shit until we did that. Also download the latest 5.8 SonicOS to play with the new way of doing content filtering & some other added features they are beta testing.

well I got mine cleaned up not perfect but a whole lot better than what it was

Linksys BEFCU10 Docsis 2 Cable modem
Asus RT-N16 running Tomato-USB 1.28 Beta Build 54 VPN Edition
16 Port Gigabit Netgear Prosafe

3Com Baseline 24 port Gigabit
Server Specs in sig.

Added an ALIX.2D13 running pfSense as my router, which replaces a VM running on my ESXi box (in the picture). The ESXi box will be repurposed as a non-24/7 Linux desktop. Draws ~5W instead of the ~240W the ESXi box drew (dual quad-core Opteron). Switch is a Dell 2716.

oh i did, just now to verify it, and see it actually working :)

Hav to call sw tomorroow to get help with netextender on mac and ssl vpn.

How are you getting that speed with no ethernet cables attached?

I would say it's within the realm of possibility that the time at which the screenshot was taken, and the time at which the picture was taken, may differ enough that between these two points in time, there may have been a gap long enough to either plug in or unplug said cables.

Next time I will be certain to include on of these ";)" to ensure that readers know that I am joking.

Ditto, sorry, was only meant as dry humor! hard to convery emotion/lack there-of through text, haha.

now let's see it maxed out...
I can max out 10gbit, get reasonably close on 20gbit, but I have no hope at 40gbit unfortunately.

Photo was taken while the OS was being installed.
The big question is "why?"
Why not? :p
might consider investing some of that cash in a case next time instead.. :D
It's just a test setup with spare parts. Too much of a pain to put it in a case when you're working on it, not to mention the UD9 only fits in the biggest cases available because it requires 9 expansion slots.

what actual use are those cards? I doubt you HDD can keep up with them. You would need a heafty SAN

I have plenty of SANs and RAID cards at home and 100+ drives. My main RAID array will easily saturate 10gbit. As for those cards, they're going into colocation into some dual 6-core servers that need high speed interlinks. They all have 20-24 drives and decent RAID cards.

Heres some more photos from the project im working on now. My guys ran the camera wires and data/voice/alarm/access control wires this week and last week. 2 outta 4 holes used, nice. So i have room for the future. We are not going to insulate this wall so we can run wires in the future (the insulation is really just a sound deadening material since its an open office concept)... we'll also have an access panel so we can access the wires. I shoulda taken photos of the basement/server room but i'll do that next time i go there

Are the different color cables for different purposes, or is it just what you had on hand?

We try to keep ours pretty standard. Blue for access runs, orange for fiber, yellow for patch cables, green for console connections etc.
