What did Newegg Bring YOU?????

Newegg via UPS dropped off a WD 2TB EARS yesterday.

It will only up my storage space from 11TB to 12.25TB since I am pulling out 3x 250GB drives from the machine, due to insufficient SATA headers.

Newegg delivered my Xtrac Ripper XXL deskpad 2 days ago.

They should be sending a replacement Spinpoint F4 2TB in a few days.

is that mouse pad really 3' long?

Yeah, it's really 3' wide. It's quite nice. I just got my Ripper XL about 3 weeks ago, and I liked it so much I took it to work and got the XXL for home. The XXL was only $5 more and I figured that if I didn't like it covering the whole desk, I could cut it and get 2 smaller (17"x18") pads and it would be a better deal than a single XL pad.

I should have just bought the XXL and cut it in half the first time, but it looks quite nice on the desk and it's very comfortable.

That''s good to know. It's funny, last week I was trying to find a vendor online who sold rolls of you know- neoprene with fabric... and I wanted to cover my desk with it.

Newegg brought me a Black Widow keyboard, 2 more Samsung F3 1 TB drives, a Canoscan 5600F, and a Corsair Voyager mini 16GB flash drive.

I recently received this:

SuperMicro Atom server. The Ram was shipped from a different warehouse and is taking longer to get here though. It's kinda burn. If it had been the hard drive, at least it could still post, but it had to be the ram. LOL. I did try to power it on anyway though. I just had to try.

I am itching to get this server going.

The card that is in there I already had, it's a dual fiber card. I'll be using this server as a SAN controller, basically. I have 4 SAN enclosures that will plug in to it. I can't wait to play with this.

I actually have another newegg order on the way, an iStarUSA case so I can convert my tower server to rackmount, a hard drive to replace one that is failing, and a fan for this server, as it never really ocured to me to buy fans. That fiber card will probably be producing a decent amount of heat.

I will show you on Wednesday or thurs what newegg is going to bring me. Going to be a nice day for me. I also have the NZXT Beta EVO I love the case very sturdy.

I find the Fan facing UP to be better in my opinion as long as you dont drop anything in it. It does make for better cooling. I always place mine Fan up. I also dont run my case with the Side panel on it either

Hmm, I guess, I thought that maybe the psu intake and the gpu intake would kind of fight a little bit over airflow that way, whereas with the psu facing down it would just be taken out of the equation since it gets all its air directly from the outside.

Plus, surely he would be able to route the CPU power cable behind the Mobo tray better, but it's not like it has a windows or anything..

Nothing yet. :( Have a 2500k, 8 gigs of ram, an SSD, HSF, Mobo, and a free copy of Civ V all coming separate shipments, two with EggSaver shipping. They are all at least in my timezone now.

NeonOmega....what case is that?

It's the NZXT Beta Evo- and I have built dozens of PC's (for customers) in this case. In my opinion, it's the best budget PC case on the market. Room for a 120x2 radiator, plenty of cable management space behind the motherboard tray, very good cooling, no sharp corners, tool-less design- it's a very high quality case.

Here's a link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146059&Tpk=beta%20evo

it's $44 now, and totally worth it. I've seen it for as little as $35 before i think.

Check it out! :)

What do you think of that black widow? I'm really jealous.

I used to be a mechanical kb only type of guy- then I found the Logitech illuminated think kb, which i have quite a few spread about.

I just realized this, but howcome you decided not to install the psu, fan facing down since that case has a cutout just for that?

Well at the time of the build, I didn't have any spare 120mm fans with me, and it will be sitting on carpet. The only tiny complaint I have about the beta evo, is that the feet are tiny, and I wanted the PSU to have plenty of breath to keep it cool. Plus, it will pull hot air from the case, and exit it out of the back.

That's the thought anyway, we'll see how it does.. ;)

What kind of carpet is it. I wouldnt put it on carpet that wont give the PSU any good cooling.

Newegg doesn't come today, but UPS is dropping off an Antec 300, Ultra 600watt PSU and an EVGA 8600GTS 256mb for my pentium D setup. Newegg brings me a CM Hyper 212 Plus tomorrow for the CPU in my pentium D :).

I have used Ultra PSU's before, a few times. Could that order be from... TigerDirect Possibly?? :D

I'm really liking it. Everything just feels so crisp compared to my old MS Comfort Curve and the crappy cheap Dell keyboard I have at work. I think my last mechanical kb was attached to an old Zenith 8086...

My only gripes are that it's a little on the loud side and the frame around it has a glossy piano black finish which picks up fingerprints like crazy.

It also took a little getting used to having macro keys on the far left side but now I can see why you used to be a mechanical kb only person. Now I just have to convince our tech guys at work to get me something mechanical to use there!

Just dropped off the parts for my HTPC:

AMD Athlon X2 245
Biostar 880G Motherboard
WD Green 2TB HDD
Corsair XMS3 4GB
Antec MicroFusion 350

Can't wait to put this baby together!

"Out For Delivery" is a SATA DVD burner, a PWM fan for my HSF, and two 10ft DVI cables for my two 21.5" 1900x1080 monitors! :D

What was SUPPOSED to be here today was my Lian Li PC-K7B... but apparently the weather is preventing UPS from shipping it from Columbus to Portsmouth... its not even snowing! BS if you ask me! Oh well... least I can get everything up and running :D

HD201's! Two pair, but obviously a dupe order so I only kept one :D

Nice pile there OP, but there is no such thing as a "budget gamer sandybridge" -- just sandy bridge gamer. :p

Newegg brought me last night

x2 red cold cathodes
x2 blue LED fans
x1 Samsung F3 500GB
X1 LG DVD Burner

Im ordering my CPU & Mobo on the 4th so once that comes ill I will post pics of everything

Oh, I might add- that's 32gb of 1333 RDIMM ram! for $630! That's 1/2 of what dell was going to charge me!

You are an awesome husband!! So thoughtful, and giving. ;)

I know my hot nerd-loving wife enjoys tech pron too!

Awesome build-- BTTT!

HAHAHA! Yeah she was really impressed with my $5 gift of a cooler bracket. :D

Actually she is these days more into techy things than the frilly things I gave her in the past. If I were to send her a dozen roses, she would say she could have bought another SDHD card with the money. :p Being married for over 20 years and priorities change I guess.
