Getting ready to purchase from local Microcenter and with all the problem postings just wondered if anybody has had a nice, trouble free install with the P8P67. I have an i7 2600K to go with it. I don't need or want the Pro or Deluxe so just the vanilla please and thank you!

If you flash the bios to the latest version first you should have little or no trouble at all. That's my 2 cents. I believe a few people here and there still have a few bugs with the latest bios but I *think* they're in the minority...

I really liked my p8p67 deluxe after a stable bios came out. (Also, do a clean install of windows, some people who kept their old install of windows had issues). This board is great once you get it up and working... and then you never have to mess with it again!

I was fine until last night when I had the first sleep-mode related BSOD, but I just applied the Microsoft Hotfix so I will be monitoring it more carefully this weekend.

I have an P8P67 Pro + i7-2600k + 8GB Kingston (2 x KVR1333D3N9K2/4G 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM) with the factory BIOS of 402 dated 10-2010...

Update: No problem since applying the Hotfix....

I have the vanilla, no major problems with the install. Only had cold-boot problems and the latest bios (not the beta) fixed that

I have the vanilla version. 2500k. 8gb Corsair xms3. I've had all of the same problems as many others. I still have the cold boot problem. I tried all the tips from Gary, but it still has to boot 2 (sometimes 3) times through post before going into windows. Last night, after some stuttery Dead Space 2 (was good for about an hour) I exited the game and went into asus AI Suite II to find the chip got stuck at 1.6 ghz on all cores (I have it set to 45x Mult. for a 4.5 final OC). Very odd, so I went into the UEFI bios and saw that it set my max multi down to 42 on its own?? It wasnt temps, I have the silver arrow on the cpu and priming I max all cores at no more than 52c. The computer puts itself to sleep no matter what settings I use. I have the windows profile on high performance with sleep off, but no matter what I have tried, if I let it idle overnight, it is always sleeping when I wake up. The resume doesnt work from sleep about 99% of the time, and the one time it did, the chip was stuck with 1 core at 1.6ghz until I rebooted. Also, for some reason, I can only adjust the base non turbo multiplier now to 45. The turbo multipler is greyed out in the UEFI. Thing is, it was fine for awhile where I could adjust no problem, now I cannot. The ASUS AI Suite is very buggy as well. I cannot overclock at all using the suite. If i do the auto overclock, it reboots me a few times, but always comes back to the desktop with a 0% overclock, or it just adjusts my BCLK to 103.5mhz. Very frustrating. Once into desktop, I have had no crashes at all, just the very odd behavior I listed above.

I bought the P8P67-Pro with the i5-2500k and GSkill f3-12800CL7D-4gbrm. I was nervous because of all of the problems I was reading about, but when it got here I had the 1253 bios ready on a jump drive. Installed the cpu and heatsink along with the memory and video card (GB Nvidia 460gtx) and it booted right up. Ran the bios update in the uefi shut it down and cleared the cmos, but I didn't remove the battery. I then booted up and I have had no problems what so ever. Haven't tried to OC it yet, just haven't had time. But absolutely no problems.

I would add that I'm not using a ssd nor do I have any of my drives in raid array.

CPU LED is lit up on my board, can't figure out why. Tried everything. Last resort is replace power supply but its a newer 700 watt OCZ. (RMA'd the first board still having same problem with new)

No problems other than my ram was a bit finicky. I blame that on G.Skill.

How long did you wait for yours to POST? If you are impatient and only wait like 15 seconds, please wait longer, up to a minute even. Just let it sit there for a minute and see if it would eventually POST. I waited longer and was able to POST mine and after BIOS update, also wait some more. After that, configure BIOS for your components and in most case, it will boot normally (fast). If you read all my posts regarding my P8P67 Pro, you may find what you need to gets yours runnng.

P8P67 Pro / 2500K here. I've had no serious problems with the board, it's been great so far.

The only annoyance is that the board sometimes will double POST during a cold boot, and sometimes complains about setting the ram to 1600. I'm using the 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws, so that may have something to do with it.

I am not having any issues with this board. I pulled my P5Q pro w/ quad q6600 and replaced with P8P67 Pro w/2600K. No wipe on the SSD, installed updated drivers. Stable at 4.6 up for 3 days now. Hibernate works, SSD works and ASSSD scores are better then in my old system. I dropped the ram speed down to 1333 vs 1600. I am still running the beta bios. I did have a gray screen a few days back which necessitated the reboot which I attribute to the ATI cards. I have ran IBT, Prime 3d Mark with no lock ups or crashes.

I have the P8P67 PRO and everything runs top notch. Love the EFI and having no problems whatsoever. The only nuisance I have experienced with this board is the cold double boot problem.

OCing on this motherboard was also a breeze. Specs in signature

How do I view your Signature?

It should've been below my post. But I will copy and paste it below:

HSF: Cooler Master Hyper 212+
Mobo: ASUS P8P67 PRO (1053 BIOS)
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws 8GB DDR3 1333
GPU: MSI GeForce 460 GTX 1 GB Cyclone

Hey,

Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated. I went ahead and got the board and just finished installing.
Booted right up ! and installed windows no problem. After installing necessary drivers ( I'm running one Velociraptor in ACHI mode) with Marvell controller disabled and USB 3 installed. In Device Manager I have one 'Unknown Device USB' I tried to let it re-install driver from the Asus disc but no dice. Could this be the Bluetooth driver ? does it need to be installed to avoid the 'Unknown Device' ?
Also HWmonitor shows 0c for CPUTIN and AUXTIN and the fan speeds are way, way off ! Any body else notice strange HWmonitor readings ?

Thanks Again for the Help !

My Pro version appears to be running problem free now. I did have the cold boot problem. The 1253 bios seemed to fix that. Reading the information posted here helped alot.

I setup the Pro version for my Uncle last weekend. No problems at all. He is running strictly stock for now, until the BIOS 13xx is release. However, bare stock, it runs like a dream. He DOES get the double POST, but the extra 5 seconds doesn't really bother him right now. Plus, his PC runs 24/7 nearly so he doesn't have to deal with it :p.

My first one had problems a few days into using it, then solid red cpu led.

I got with Gary Key and Mason and got a new board.

Rock solid so far.

2 6950
2600k
ssd
xonar ds

Only odd thing is none of my network drives reconnect after reboot.

I have a vanilla P8P67 and other than restarting it to install updates or flash the bios It has been running 24/7 w/o a single issue.

Its honestly one of the most stable boards I have ever purchased.

Big word of advice. Make sure you buy RAM thats on the QVL. I am sure others will work just fine but from what I have been reading its picky about the ram it uses. Even using the ram on the QVL I had to use the mem ok button to get it to boot the first time. I also had to do this when I added 4 more gb of the same ram.

if hitting a little button is the only issue I have with this board I can live with that. :)

I'm wondering how many people experiencing problems with their boards have fried them with ESD. Especially if you're in the cold northeast where build up of static electricity in the winter is more common. Please take precautions. I am fortunate to have an anti-static mat, grounded myself, and followed proper procedure handling the delicate components.

The USB device is the bluetooth - no way to disable it in BIOS, you can either install the driver, disable it in Device Manager, or live with the unknown device. Did you install the Intel Management Engine driver - if not maybe that is causing the strange HWMonitor readings?

No problems here. I had a usb drive ready with the latest bios and flashed it upon first post. I have the deluxe, i7-2600k at 4.3ghz, megahalems Rev.B cooler, and corsair vengeance at 1600. I didn't reinstall windows 7 - I had no problems; I upgraded from a q6700 and intel bad axe 2.

Thanks I did install Intel Management Engine and yes installing the Bluetooth driver did cure the 'Unknown Device'. I don't know what the deal with HWmonitor is. I did look around and saw some screen shots that show exactly the kind of reading I'm getting.
Also are you guys enabling the EPU switch ?

I've got the Pro board and I haven't hae any problems with it so far -- knock on wood. Pretty basic setup: OCZ Vertex (boot), WD 1TB storage HD, ATI 5850, 8GB Corsair XMS memory (2x4GB @PC1600). I feel pretty lucky considering the # of people that are posting problems.

I'm running my P8P67 Pro, 2500k, G.Skill F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ @ PC1600, Seasonic X750 trouble free @ 4.5GHz and using the 1253 BIOS. Cold boots were fixed with a CMOS reset and it "sleeps" fine, though I did have one bsod coming out that may have been Windows update related.

It was a little finickier than most setting up, but solid since.

Running P8P67 Deluxe, 8gb 1600 Ripjaws X RAM, Intel Xm25 160GB, EVGA GTX 570, i7 2600K, Noshua DH-14, Corsair 850 PS, Win 7 x64.

I spent days reading all the posts and actually dreaded building this thing. I was really careful about ESD (I too use a grounding matt) and applying thermal paste. The first thing I did was flash the Bios to 1253. Then I installed Win 7 followed by the most recent Intel inf and management files. Then
I installed every driver from the ASUS support disk. Then I downloaded the Aii program from the ASUS FTP site (a couple of hours). It wouldn't install until I patched it and even then it required a lot of clicking on OKs.

Everything went well. I had a few minor hiccups that were fixed with HOC board suggestions (waking up from sleep). I used Auto tune from Aii suite and am now running at 4.4 GHz. It all looks good.

Be real careful about ESD this time of year. You can damage a board and not even feel the static. Aside from my grounding matt, I plug one end of my wrist strap into the grounding hole of an outlet.

The most

I solved all my issues that I care about (RAID-0 drive lost issue, memory underclocked issue, cold boot twice issue, bios screen shown twice issue, how to overclock correctly, memory unstable issue) -- all thanks to these forums (particularly Gary and Juan). I'm now running a stable 4.5Ghz

Some of the bios defaults are not that great, but I'd still buy it again.

I thought about that before upgrading my system - every time I take off my winter coat I can feel the static electricity. So even without a proper anti-static mat, I took the necessary precaution of using the anti-static bags shipped with the MB, handling the PCB and RAM carefully, avoiding goldfingers and chips, and keeping my hand on the case when possible. And it helps not to wear a fleece while building... ;)

The only "problem" i've had, which really isn't even a problem, is that I had to make a few bios tweaks (thanks to Gary) to remove the triple 'asus setup' splash screens.

Reading thru this gives me hope, but apparently I am one of the folks who have a problematic P8P67 PRO board

I've tried every troubleshooting tactic that I can think of, but my system constantly locks up / freezes without warning and without regard to whether it is idle or under load

Looking thru my event viewer I've had 23 freezes / lock-ups in 8 days (only indicated by the "system has rebooted without cleaning shutting down first" Event ID 41)

Almost without fail, when I wake up in the morning the system has locked up and I get nothing on the monitor and no response from the keyboard or mouse (can't ping or remote in from a different machine either)

I haven't even attempted any overclocking or tweaking in the BIOS yet, so I'm at my wits end with what to do

I guess I'm going to call Microcenter about returning this motherboard

I had to RMA two Asus Maximus Formula III boards socket 1156 because they would not work in dual channel ram setup This mobo is no different, lots of issues and Asus is my favorite brand............

Hmmm I have that, how did you get rid of it?

Turn off the Marvell and JMicron SATA controllers.
Well, yes that works, but I like having them on.

Go into the UEFI advanced settings. Boot tab - Option Rom - set to 'Keep Current'.

I have all of my optional controllers on and only see one splash screen now.

If you disable full-screen logo, then set the time to 1 second, you can knock an additional 3-4 seconds off your boot. I hit a desktop with all tray icons loaded in 37 seconds from the time I press power.

I haven't had any issues with my board at all. I had the extra time to boot because of the drive controllers but it wasn't an issue but more preference for a faster boot time.

My board has been working well since release. (2600k oc'd 4.5GHz 24/7)

I have a P8P67 Pro with no issues.

I wasn't having any issues but upgraded to the 1253 Bios to get rid of the double post issue.

Running a 2500k with 2x4 GB G.Skill DDR3-1333 9-9-9-24 and a Corsair TX750W

For kicks i just turned it on and started watching a youtube vid. 5:21 minutes later - its still just sittin there. I really can't understand this. Could my 12v 8 pin be bad on my PSU but the rest of the rig powers up just fine? I don't understand.

Feel like by the time i get this running it won't be the fastest chip on the market.
