Intel i5 2500K w/ Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3P LGA 1155 P67 MOBO $319.98

taken from slickdeals

they finally are doing i7 SB bundles. If you bought a 2600k or 2500k processor from MC recently, I am sure you can go back and get a mobo for bundle price. But, don't quote me on this. I am gonna try this out myself, lol.

The 2500K + Gigabyte bundle is $50 off. Not bad.

I just got the i7-2600K alone yesterday and didn't know about this bundle. I wonder if i can return the (still sealed) cpu and get the bundle deal w/ the ASUS p8p67. I have to do this by Sunday I guess. I wonder if they will do this for me?

If you can stop pooping for a few hours I bet you can :)

I just got off the phone with a rep from MC. They will honor the mobo for bundle price even if you have bought the processor already. Go to MC with your processor, make sure it isn't opened and your receipt also. Buy the bundle, return the old processor. Or if your processor is already opened, buy the bundle, return the unopened processor.

They will if it isn't open. Go grab the motherboard and take it to Service & Repair then tell them you want to do an exchange. What they will do is basically add in the motherboard and you will just play the difference.

You have 30 days "price protection" meaning if the prices change you can go in and show them your receipt and get the difference as well. Seriously if a television goes down in price by $400 they will honor that if it is within the time period since their sales are every two weeks generally. They have a standard monthly sale and split that into two parts - A and a B.

Hope that helps.

But please, make sure someone puts their sticker on the product especially if you have someone that you go to on a regular basis. If not, just give the person credit who sold you the processor.

Follow my instructions and you won't have to make so many purchases especially if you are worried about tying up your credit card.

Just a tip.

My MC has said thay will price match Newegg on motherboards, so if yours will too I'd show the Newegg price of $185 which is $5 less than the bundle markdown. You already saved $90 on the processor. Newegg is OOS, so you may have to wait until it's back in stock before doing it.

If they won't do it, just order from Newegg anyway and save on tax too!

Edit - I just noticed the ADDITIONAL $30 savings for the bundle. Sorry about that...

arr looks like the regular P8P67 is in stock at santa clara now along with the i5 2500k. trying to find a bundle page for that.. could've sworn there was one yesterday when the 2500 was still OOS :(

They still had a sign up for that bundle at MS here, I think it was like $30-40 cheaper but not exactly sure on that.

Hi guys! So I went back to Microcenter after work today to get the bundle. I did not have the i7-2600K cpu with me except for the receipt in my wallet. I went and ask the sale guy about getting a price differenced on the ASUS p8p67 Pro. He told me you can't do that (I smelled bullsh!t). Anyways, I told him that I only have the receipt and that I left the cpu at home. He suggest that I buy the i7-2600k and ASUS p8p67 Pro bundle again to get the bundle price and then go the trunk and drop off the mobo and come back and return the newly purchase i7-2600k with the old receipt. I did that and the 'return/exchange' guy told me that I could've just brought the receipt in and grab mobo and they'll adjust it to the bundle price. Anyway, even with this hassle I was able to return one the i7-2600k and got the bundle price. I'm pretty happy! :) The ASUS p8p67 Pro was one of the mobo i was considering anyone, so the bundle price really solidify and seal the deal/decision for me. Can't wait to assemble this tomorrow or Sunday. Too tire tonight, have to be up early to take care of my 8 week old baby boy and a 32 months boy as well. Very tiring so so worth it!

Its amazing that a $280 processor trumps everything out there. And it has a video card built-in. Intel really out did themselves this time.

god forbid there are any SB deals anywhere else besides some B&M store that has 10 locations nationwide.. meh

Nice Sir Poop!

I placed an online reservation, went in to pick up the bundle with my processor, and told the guy my situation then he went to back and asked his department manager. He came back and said yeah. Everything went smooth. I just need to pick up some ram, a small SSD for boot and another storage drive, and a graphics card too. I am giving my GF a free 1055t(cherry picked doing 4.0 Ghz @ with1.47v), gigabyte ud3h and some 4gb of corsair 1600 7-8-7-20 ram. SMH, she needs a new PC though and this thing would probably last her a decade for her uses, lol.

Here's me bundle!

Oh and I just noticed [H]'s new layout for posts. Pretty cool, everybody's name is blasted in my face.

dayum, will ur gf even put that chip to use?

man o man your SB setup is gonna rock. I'm holding out for ivy-bridge but am way jealous of ur SB build.

I also bought the processor 2600k last weekend only without motherboard. Wanted the Asus Deluxe p8p67 but they were oos. The bundle deal is only for the 'Pro' version and not a bad deal but wish it was for the Deluxe. Maybe I'll get it I don't know!

The board you bought isn't (from what I see) a triple channel ram board. A 3 stick/12gb kit is either too much, or not enough, correct? Just wondering.

Yeah, pretty sure the P67s install in pairs, not triples.
Skt 1155 is dual channel only. I am not sure what they are going to do with the other socket coming later this year.

as to the guy that posted about mobo's, the Asus pro board is reccommended over the gigabyte, but its also personal preference; performance is near identical, but it comes down to board features, etc

If anyone needs one of these bundles I'll pick one up for them for some gas money. PM me if interested.

Has anyone tried price matching this deal at a Fry's now that Fry's price matches virtually everything?

I believe i read a few people, in close range, to a microcenter were able to match the cpu price. The next time I stop by fry's I might attempt it but as I'm 2 hours away from the closest microcenter I'm expecting it will be a no go.

Yeah i am planning to get another stick of 4GB of Vengeance..... making it a total of 16 GB :D

Thanks for posting this! I had a chance at the last deal and thought about it too much, kind of kicked myself when my MC sold out last week.

How are the bundle discounts applied? When you go pick it up? In my online cart, after "adding bundle," I do not see the bundle price.

Prices will return to roughly that level when they have the 20% off BYOPC month (February every year). It won't be as cheap...but close.

man, that was a good deal for the 2600k & ASUS pro board! Day late and a dollar short like usual!

there will eventually be another sale, I decided to wait it out till they iron some of the bugs out.

Those of you that missed out on this but are still looking to upgrade to Sandy Bridge should check out some of Newegg's combo discounts...

I usually overlook them since I seldom find one that suits me (at 'least during my C2Q and A64 builds I didn't), but they've got some excellent ones going right now. An i5 2500K + the MSI P67A-GD55 mobo would run me $377 at MC (w/tax), -$20 MIR, $357 total. Same combo at Newegg is $360, -$20 MIR, $340 total... Free shipping on both items and you even get a free game download from MSI/Ubisoft. Even though they're selling the 2500K something like $44 higher than MC you still end up paying less, pretty sweet. :D

It seems you can only view the combos when you add one of the two items to your cart btw, could've swore they used to show them on the product page.

That MSI mobo is a slight variation of one that [H]ard reviewed btw, I believe it's just missing an e-SATA port and the little plugs for taking voltage readings w/a multimeter... They also have a combo for the GD65 version though, if you fancy that, as well as for the ASUS P8P67 Pro... The ASUS combo isn't quite as sweet since the base price of the mobo is much higher but they do toss in Civ 5. I think it's $390 w/o any rebates, so you could look at it as getting the same price as MC's combo + Civ V for $25. :(
