I just wanted to know if a connected flash drive with stuff on it slows down the computer in any way during games and what not.

In what context?

A flash drive will cause some slowdown whenever the computer attempts to read or access its contents.

no like during games for instance, i dont care about reading its contents. I just get tired of having to pull it out and put it in again so I just leave it there, still readable.

I don't see why it should, unless something is continually trying to access it. And even then, in games there shouldn't be anything noticeable. Have you noticed anything?

I dont think there is anything wrong, I'm just curious about it, I dont know if external hard disks cause any problems though. And how do you make a flash drive sleep or close and turn it back on without reinserting it?

If you have it open you just click the x on the open file and it closes. To open it again go to my computer and double click the flash drive and it will open up.

i sound silly i know but i'm really not using it so i got nothing open, its not a big deal. I just dont know what flash drives do when they are in usb and not in use. What do they use up? other than a usb port i dont know.
