Cell Phone Saves Man From Bullet

dude says in the video that the bullet hit his coat and traveled up, so he was shot at with a pussy-assed 9mm...

glad to see my HTC EVO could save my life from random gang bangers though (do a google search for New Bedford, MA shooting Anthony Jones, this was a block from my house, woke me from a dead sleep...)

personally i prefer a .45 ACP, they don't bounce off people like 9mm do.

I would not give a 9mm that description. It is an effective cartridge with decent stopping power. That is why police use them. It may not have the greatest stopping power, but for most circumstances it does the job. Also, he was not shot at. He was shot. He was just not injured by the bullet impact. If you think a 9mm is a worthless round, then invite someone to empty 25 rounds of 9mm from an MP-5 into your chest. You'll develop a quick respect for the round shortly before you expire about 10 seconds later. ;)

A .45 ACP is definitely a more powerful cartridge, but 9mm rounds do not bounce off people unless they're either wearing class II armor or better or they're Superman. The round in question bounced off a hard object that it struck at a shallow angle. A .45 ACP could have also bounced off that phone considering the angle of impact. It may not have, but the possibility remains.
