HOT- 6GB G.Skill DDR3 1600- $64.99 New Egg

I have been eying this ram for a few weeks now. The price kept dropping & was holding out to see if it would hit $70. $65 is too low to pass up. Plus, I already have 6gb of this already. 12gb babeeee!

Now this is a very [H]ot deal. I got this set for $95 almost 2 years ago.

Wow almost down to $10 a GB is very nice.

However if I wanted to move past 6GB I'd probably go with 4GB DIMMs, but will probably hold off until my next upgrade which would probably be either socket 1356 or socket 2011.

RAM prices fluctuate. This is the lowest it's been, ever. 30% cheaper. It's hot.

Exactly. At one point, I saw it for $139.99. For $65, that's more than 50% off of the peak price. At this price, I'm considering going up to 12GB.

Sizzling... !
Where do I enter the code?

SOrry for noob-ish question guys.

No problem... just add the RAM to your cart on newegg, and below the shipping options there will be a box to add a promotional code :).

Anyone think I should get 6GB more for a total of 12GB? Or is it better to have 3 DIMMs?

Debating whether I should get this or not...I have no immediate need or use for it (still running a Q6600), but I am going to upgrade soon....either to Sandy Bridge or an i7 950.

Think things will go lower? Or should I bite now?

I'm in the same boat. RAM is pretty cheap and tempted to buy it just to have it for when I upgrade.

The same question that forever haunts me! The rule of thumb that seems to work for me is "buy it and afterward the price goes lower". Seems to always happen. Well I bought it this morning and $ didn't go down yet, so I guess you're safe, LOL.

Obviously, no one really knows what the prices will do in the near future. Compared to what I've seen, this is a damn good price and I doubt it'll go down much more in the near future so go for it!:D

I bit. Already have the 2x2gb G.Skill kit. Now I will have a spare 2gb stick :p

anyone wanting the 4Gb kit(2x 2Gb), this promo code expires today- $45

I really don't seeing it dropping any further than $65. If it wasn't for the promo code, I doubt it would drop below $70.

woohoo, thanks for this. Just ordered a kit a few minutes ago.

Tempting to go from 6 to 12Gb, but at my peak usage, I'm barely pulling 4Gb.
I think I'm going to abstain for now...

The ram came yesterday. Popped it in & away we go. My overclock was not affected by have all 6 slots filled either. mmm...ramdisk.....

$71 shipped with taxes...not a bad price at all. What to do....

I know I don't need 6GB for anything I do...even CS5 is smooth as ever. I think I'll hold off and spend the $ towards a new video card. Self control FTW.

still debating whether I should do this as I plan to upgrade sometime in 2011, but not sure when.

Do you guys think RAM prices will continue to go down? Or should I grab this now and see what happens?

An upgrade where it doesn't hit all at once will make it a lot easier on my wallet also.

I doubt prices will be substantially lower than this. If you're looking to purchase in advance for a (near) future upgrade, then I suggest you purchase this now.

I currently have 6GB of this and it's great RAM. I ordered another 6 from the current deal on the 26th and am still waiting for it to arrive. I live 10 miles north of the NJ Newegg warehouse and I guess now they use "UPS Mail Innovations" for their Egg Saver shipping...which means it went 150 miles to north Albany, 200 miles south to Philadelphia and then 75 miles north to a post office near me. When they were using regular UPS I always got my stuff next day, but I guess I can't complain because shipping was free.

"UPS Mail Innovations" is holding back my build... and I ordered the ram 3 days before the motherboard and processor and both are sitting at home collecting dust......

I hear ya! I too ordered on the 26th, and still have not received, and ups is not allowing me to track it either. Guess we cant complain too much if the shipping is free, but your case seems really rediculous if they went that far out of their way.

Well, it looks like the standard price dropped to $75. Be on the look out for any promos dropping this ram even further in the future!
