Ok, so, here's the deal.

A friend gave me a Christmas present, Syberia 1. Installed, played, finished. Boy, am i glad that i played this game. Wonder how i didn't noticed it till now. Nice graphics, pretty simple puzzles, good story, can't wait to play the sequel. There was though a puzzle that made me think more, the <cough:spoiler>cocktail combination</cough:spoiler>.
What is your experience with syberia?

PS:If you want a more challenging game, you could try Sentinel, descendant in time.

Its my honest opinion That Siberia was one of the last great point and click adventures.

Yeah the sequel is ok. It closes up the storyline. It's not like Matrix Revolutions bad but not quite Return of the King good. Somewhere inbetween.

It was a good game. I know that they still are making games in that style, but they rarely ever get the sort of big budget treatment that the Half-Life's of the world get. I pretty much started out on the genre when I was young with the good old "Quest" and LucasArts games so they have a special place in my heart.

Anything else semi-recent that's good? The last "big" one that I played was Indigo Prophecy; I liked it.

You should play The Longest Journey and it's sequel Dreamfall if you haven't already. The Longest Journey is about 10 years old though, but it's still a masterpiece of a game. Dreamfall has many shortcomings as a game, but the narrative will keep you hooked till the end.

Also check out Machinarium which was released last year. It's made in Flash, but it's lovely point & click adventure/puzzle game that is just overflowing with charm.

Machinarium was great. Samorost and Samorost 2 are both by the same developer(and are adventure games) and, IIRC, Samorost is free.

a lot of interesting titles on steam. I'm planing on picking up the sherlock homes series. I'm really curious about Lost horizon though I decided against picking it up when it was $10

All I know about Siberia is it's a favorite of girls who can't play action games. :p
