Hi everyone! I recently purchased a Canon Rebel T1i kit, with the 18-55mm and 55 -250mm. I am looking for a camera bag to carry the basic kit, a tripod, and possibly a lens or two extra (in the future). I will be using it mainly for taking the camera on vacations and to and from family functions out of state where being able to bring my laptop and other accessories such as power cords, chargers, etc will be required.

I have looked at the following two online and looking for any input or recommendations for a new photographer like me.

Those both look pretty good. Here's the two I have - neither of them can fit a tripod, but the first one does have a compartment for lap-top which is pretty cool.

Naneu Pro Tango - Looks awesome and has tons of room for my entire kit and even some lighting gear, but it gets pretty heavy hauling it around for several hours.

Lowepro SlingShot 202 AW - lightweight, sturdy build quality, and comfortable for hikes, but I don't really like the way it looks, and it's too small to fit my entire photo kit.

I have one almost exactly like the SlingShot 202 AW that madFive linked. I love it. It is the best camera bag I've ever owned. Well thought out, well designed, lightweight, comfortable. It has a built in rain cover also (I think most Lowepro bags do now days). I highly recommend the SlingShot line.

I had the Slingshot but did not like the way it cinched around the chest. I found it made it hard to breath right. Sold it of and now I own the Lowepro Flipside 400 as my main carry everything bag and a Tamrac Velocity 8x as my day bag

Hmm, my SlingShot chest strap is adjustable. The main strap is a diagonal strap from upper right to lower left, with a keeper strap that comes up from the right side and snaps in the middle. Works great for me, and I am of slightly larger frame (*wink*)...

+1 on the Tamrac velocity series. (Wife's bag) I also like the LowePro Stealth reporter bags.

I have this Canon bag and its a bargain at $45.00! I needed something quick and economical and picked this up until I found something better. I ended using it for 5+ plus years and not looking for another one. I pack a 24-70 w/body with another lens, two flashes and remote. Tripod and other long items can be secured with the 6 attachment points w/1" straps. Has a waist and chest strap.

Only thing you have to do is to remove the Canon badge to be "stealthy." A piece of black tape will do also.

I've had a few bags, for a long time I was dead set on going bigger & better to carry all of my gear with me at all times. Eventually I decided it was too much of a pain and started downsizing my bags.
I still have my big Kata 3-n-1 for storage at home, but I generally just take my small Lowepro Exchange Messenger with me when I go out. It has enough room for the camera body with a lens attached, two extra lenses, and a flash.

I really don't need to bring my reflectors, gray cards, tripods, transmitters, and all my filters with me every time I go out.

I have a Lowepro Flipside 300, and a ThinkTank Urban Disguise 50. The Lowepro is great if you're going on a hike or hitting the streets for a day of shooting (fits my Cannon body and a few lenses, plus all of the accessories I might need). I use my ThinkTank for traveling since it fits my 14.5" laptop, Cannon body, lenses and all of my accessories.

Buying bags is one of those things I always struggle with. I never seem to find one bag that suits all of my needs all the time. When I travel, a laptop is a must, but most of the bags that fit a laptop are far too bulky to want to carry around for a day outside (in my opinion).

I have this one and love it. In the camera compartment I carry a T1i with battery grip, a 28-135is, 50mm "nifty fifty", and a 20mm f/2.8.
It has room in the laptop compartment for my Dell XPS 15 w/ the extended 9-cell battery.
And it has two smaller compartments in the top to hold random accessories and gear, like books, headphones, laptop AC adapter, filters, flash, etc.
Also, you mentioned taking a tripod, it has a ton of straps to allow you to strap on a tripod and anything else your heart desires.
Has a built-in raincover just like the Lowe AW series.
Very comfortable pack, just fits under an airline seat in coach while fully loaded.

Hey guys, I just picked up my first DSLR, a Rebel T2i and I'm looking for a bag, anyone familiar with the Ape Case ACPRO1800? I think a backpack style will suit my needs better than carrying a separate bag for the laptop and whatever else. Just curious if anyone runs one, or a similar bag and has any input.

Thanks,
