So I am about to set up a eyefinity set up 3 HD, 24 inch monitors, it is all great, BUT I have speakers - studio monitors in fact -that are about 7 inch (18cm)+/- wide, and about 1 foot (30 CM ) high.

I can't figure out where to put them.

best I can come up with so far is FAR left and right, .. this totally blows the awesome imaging these speakers have though.I might be able to flip them upside down, so tweeter is on teh bottom, and put them "behind " the bessel joints....

ideas?

Mount the monitors on the wall, or get some "arms" to attach them to your desk? That sort of freedom lets you be a little more creative with speaker placement.

I use only 3 speakers and sub (used to be a 5.1 system but now i dont really have a place to put the rear 2), i just placed my left and right speakers behind the corresponding monitors and the center monitor on the triple monitor stand. they're not big powerful speakers anyway, the monitors are lifted enough to where it doesnt block the sound

Wherever you can. Middle speakers are not hooked up btw. Just stereo.

Ghetto fabulous. Brick stands.

Hence the bling. Ty I thought it was funny too. Works great though. There is a whole shelving unit behind that I can store everything except my receiver. It is too big.

Nice thing about most FP displays - they typically have far less issue with speakers than CRTs. The issue is more in terms of speaker height.

Given that, can you put each speaker in the 'tween panel gap? (From left to right, left speaker between first and second panels, and right speaker between second and third.) Naturally, you would likely have to flip the speakers bottom-up (since the tweeters, and their highs, fire only straight ahead). You'd still have some muffling effect due to the panels themselves (affecting midrange and below) due to the drivers being physically blocked by the panel edges/bevels in the gap.

I set my AudioEngine A2's on the sides of my surround screen setup tilted up and inward to create the "sound stage". The sub-woofer is off to the side in the corner.

Is that 3 30's? monitors look huge in the picture.

Headphones....

+4. Sennheiser HD595 have been serving me well for a good while. Always have loved Sennheiser except for the poor reliability. Have had 3 pairs valued at 200+ and each one after about 3-6 months use the sodder always came lose at the point where the cord connects to the ear peice. I suspect its the thicker heavier-duty cord maybe puts more stress on the sodder point than thinner cheaper wires of ear buds and the like use?

Alas, I'm now addicted to the lovely quality of the sound though and last pair cheaped out since I know they never last. I highly recommend headphones as I find a good $200.00 pair seems to produce sound equivilent to a $1-2k home theatre system and can simulate surround sound nearly as well as 5.1.

Did you EQ yours at all? The headphones have amazing range, but none of my music or games seemed to use it all (sounded very flat) until I EQed them.

Not very drastic EQ settings, but it really helped fill out the headphones.

you can mount your speakers on the side or up above and angle them down. the other option is to raise the monitors up and place the speakers under them.
i wouldnt put the speakers behind your screens. it will cause an echo or muffle effect and make your music and games sound like crap.
