I utterly cannot believe that a single farking website damn near maxes out my slightly over two year old gaming rig build! I've got the below specs and look at what droiddoes.com to my CPU usage not to mention sucking up my cable bandwith!

I may have to go quad sooner then I like at this rate....

are you sure you have hardware acceleration for flash enabled?

EDIT: mine doesnt go over 4%

Thank Adobe for that. You only need a few dozen generic Flash-based audio streaming apps on a website (say, a podcast directory) to get a similar CPU load, even when none of them are active.

Yah it's ridiculous. I also hate flash-heavy sites that makes scrolling stutter. 1up.com for example is so bloated that despite having nice content accessing the site is a lag so I don't go there as often as they want.

Over 70% on my Core2duo E6700, with newest flash and gpu acceleration. Funny stuff.

75% on my 3.7Ghz E8400 while moving the mouse back and forth making it track it.

LOL.

WOW, im not gonna even try that site on this rig im on now (Sempron 140)

I saw a peak of 43% CPU and 15% GPU utilization with the sig specs below.

:confused:Somehow I don't thinkg hw acceleration is working properly, temp never changes on my GPU while on that site.

I hate it when designers do this.
A guy on a forum I read set his sit up the same way, it's ridiculous.

He's supposedly a web designer and got offended when I mentioned that his site was ridiculous and ate a whole CPU with his retarded flashturbation.

I concur. Using my laptop (T6600 with a GeForce GT 220M) I would see spikes in the 90's and average in the later 70's for the processor that were not as intensive. Checking with GPU-Z there was 3% GPU usage and memory load was low too. It technically should be a different distribution load.

Mine is up there too, main rig in sig. $%-50% CPU usage. Can a website diable flash acceleration on their side? No way a GTX470 Q6700 OCd should be taxed like that by a website..

Fuck websites that heavily rely on Flash to deliver all their content. There's one in particular I have to use for a class to submit homeworks and quizzes. It sucks because not only does it bring my laptop to it's knees (Core 2 Duo ULV) it crashes frequently, kicking me out of a session and dispenses any unsaved work.

That only works for a few sites such as youtube, and even then it's only a 95% success rate for videos it's meant to work on.

Websites such as this don't really utilize the GPU decoding of flash 10.1.

Yeah, flash is bloated like all hell and I can only hope that it will one day be fixed.

*cough* HTML5 *cough* ;)

Do you have NoScript installed? Sometimes it is that JavaScripts are the one taking up so much CPU time. :(

I installed the 10.2 beta and saw a substantial increase in GPU and memory controller (16% GPU and 20% Mem) utilization than before, was 1% / 3%. However, the processor was still being hit at 90%.

Wish Flash would die and the world would switch to Silverlight. Html5 is not there yet.

firefox was using 4% cpu and plugin-container.exe was using 42% cpu.. with a 4.2ghz i7

And lol, Droid X, I call mine the "turd brick".. or sometimes just "you piece of shit" I've taken it back twice now and got a new one.. yet each one has its own quirks and problems, yet to actually see the damn thing work right.

~80% on my Work PC, dual core E7500, Firefox (latest), Windows 7 x64. That is quite sad...

Yeah, that site is real CPU hog. Usage got up to 12%, and that's on a 980x @ 4.2ghz and the whole 12 logical cores thing. Yeouch.

Still, Flash doesn't suck THAT badly. They must be doing something like realtime 3D on those phones instead of a bunch of pre-rendered sprites. Or it's just coded very badly. Things will always suck if you're doing it wrong.

It looks like Flash might have real GPU acceleration soon, too. Molehill (Good stuff starts at 2:30ish)

80~90% on intel atom netbook.

Same here. Yeah, flash could be much more optimized imo and definitely needs to scale better with CPUs. It's no wonder Apple and Steve Jobs hates it so damn much. Not to say Apple is perfect, but damn, flash is such a resource hog.

Just to further emphasis how retarted this is, I tried to go to the same website on my moms new Dell Studio with a dual core T4600 and it completely locked her entire computer up, it couldn't even play the sound without it buffering.

speedtest.net also needs fair bit cpu power, not so bad as this site and only for short period. When it zooms in on the map it lagged on my c2d 6420, lags on my laptop, but is smooth on my i5. On my laptop during the speedtest itself the cpu is pegged at 100%.

On a side note, the Droid X is a pretty bad ass phone. I have one! :) If you're gonna burn cpu cycles, at least it's over a droid and not an apple iphone.
